#298 – Hop

I think I got my first rabbit’s foot key chain as a prize from a carnival. I had it for awhile before I freaked out realizing that it was a real rabbit’s foot. After that I tried to stick to plastic or metal key chains. My current one is a mini flashlight that perpetually has a dead battery whenever I want to use it.

haha thats great, I always wondered what made a rabbit foot lucky

  2. Elli says:

A REAL rabbit’s foot?! Ewww. Mine are always faux fur on wood. I know this because my dog chewed a few up. ¬_¬

  3. Chuck says:

My key chain is ANBU Kakashi, and a little purple strap that says Best Friends that I got at Shakey’s.

  4. Macabelle says:

Macabelles choice of keychains is an LAD light that may be used to vaporize innocent strangers that sneak up on him unintentionally.

  5. I’ve got even better, a 2GB USB flash drive 🙂

  6. trueblaze says:

Oh come on, how can a rabit’s foot be lucky? I mean, the rabit had four and look what happened to it.

  7. Ghostviper says:

i have this wierd black painted steel lizard as my keychain…. and like 5 random rings… i found it at the park w/ my 6yo cuosin!!

  8. Hickabooboo says:

I’ve got a massive lump of keys on my keyring…I had the intention of getting as many as possible on there, but I’ve yet to work out what some of them are for…most of them really. Still, looks impressive.

    Lovin the comic!

  9. Micah says:

I think next time he’ll take it off the rabbit first?

  10. Elli says:

I have a Happy Bunny keychain, and a fish keychain. It’s of twisted wires covered in beads. Yet the only key I have is the one to my house. XD

  11. Chris says:

    Micah – exactly.

  12. Eleanor says:

I used to have two keyrings latched together, one was a little purse just about bug enough to get five pund coins and a bit of change in, the second was this cylinder with a spiral centre made of pllastic full of water and a bit of coloured oil, it worked like a spirally lava lamp except only 3in tall.
My grandma has a rabbit’s foot brooch, dunno if it’s real or not though.

  13. Yakboy says:

my keys are attatched to my wallet, so when i put it in my pocket they hang out the side.

  14. Gobbledegook says:

I would love to have a live rabbit’s foot keychain, but I think the ASPCA would have my butt in a sling almost as fast as my wife would.
The one I have right now is made of chainmail.

  15. C4Pottery says:

My keychain is a mini tetris game made by Square Enix. Yes, I know. It’s a sign of the apocalypse. That’s why I never press the reset button. I’ll save it for when the world freezes.

  16. Wannabeelf says:

i got my first lucky rabbit foot out of a gum-ball machine when i was 5 (there was other stuff in it and i wanted the other stuff). i always knew they were real rabbit feet so i never liked it–but i did like the way it smells. 12 years latter, that foot helped me realize just how strong my sense of smell is.

you see, i was standing by the window watching a rabbit that was hopping around the deck, eating grass, while my mother was watering the flowers. right after it hopped to the stairs and out of sight, i turned around and did other things for a while. i thought it had gone by the time i had to go outside and tell my mother something. as soon as i stepped out of the door, a light breeze carried a scent to me. the scent was familiar, but i couldn’t place it. while i was trying to place the scent, i took a few steps forward and called to my mother. the sound of my voice startled the rabbit out of it’s place by the steps 2.5-3 yards away from me and, as it was running away, i realized that the scent had been jut like my lucky rabbit’s foot.

  17. Garacius says:

Personally, the only thing I see wrong with having REAL rabbits foot good luck charms is if the feet are all they took. Nothing wrong with shooting a nice juicy rabbit, eating the meat then using the various parts for knick knacks. Its all about using EVERYTHING you can from the animal, or at least, as much as you can.

  18. Seraphine says:

I’m slow. What is Biff doing with a carrot in his hand?
It looks like he is using it as a divining rod.
Carrots only work on vegetable matter, not lost rabbit foots.
    Don’t they?

  19. Jon says:

My key chain looks like a little wooden cup with a wooden straw poking out the top. I got it in Argentina, where they drink a certain herbal drink called Mate. You always drink Mate from a special cup, so the cup is a symbol of the drink. It’s funny that I have it, because I’ve never actually tried Mate.

  20. Noble says:

They might not work on a lost rabbit foot, but they might work on the lost rabbit that the foot is attached to.

  21. AG says:

I just have a good luck charm that I got at daibutstu (Thats japanese for “great buddha”.). It’s supposed to keep you safe while traveling. I figured that I’d get it because I’m almost constantly traveling; going somewhere about once every month. Since I got it, I haven’t been able to travel at all.

  22. CojoinedCows says:

Seraphine, he’s trying to attract the rabbitfoot with the carrot.

My key chain says “ROLLS ROYCE OWNER”. I also have a little led-light, which isn’t very bright, unfortunately.

  23. Miranda says:

My keychain is a metal heart with a bell inside so I can find my keys by shaking my purse. Pretty and practical. I also have a pink ninja keychain to defend from the purse monsters that try to steal my keys.

  24. Bobs says:

My keychain is so cool, its invisible, and as light as air. its also a perpetual energy device, but it only works when nobody is looking at it. i could take one of those LED mini lights and modify it with a brighter one from an electronics store, ive alredy turned an LED flashlight from white to Infrared, only digital cameras can see it. doing a conversion from dull white to blinding white shouldnt be all that hard

  25. BlueWaterDragon says:

I have five really big chains on my key (inside of my wallet) and they hang down to my knee, jingling as I walk. Garacius you are absloutely right. I’d have a bunny foot if I could have the rest of the bunny first.

  26. AJ says:

My keychain is a little fake square like one on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It has my name on it and serves as a souvenir of my trip to Hollywood.

  27. Rocky says:

ever hear about lucky? the 1 legged, one eyed, one eared, deaf, blind horse. hes kinda like the 3 footed rabbit 😛 i once collected so many keychains on one single clip it could break belt loops or pull down pants. it weaighed in at 27 Lbs.

  28. Emily says:

I have a key chain thing to hold my keys but one day i was swinging it around walking up my long long driveway. my texas hold em’ key chain fell off and flew int the woods. after that i needed a new one, so i got a green lucky rabbits foot. it hasn’t been lucky yet but we’ll see.

  29. Kamorth says:

I get made fun of for my key rings. I have a flashdrive, 2 caribinas that say “Not suitable for climbing”, a tiny torch that’s not good for anything really, about 8 bottle openers of various styles (I’m a computer tech by day, bar tender by night), 3 lanyard ends (the bits with the clips.. I get irritated having the whole thing on there) half a dozen belt clips, and 5 whole keys, two of which are useless as I have no idea what they unlock.

  30. Radical Edward says:

I have a transdimensional viewing gourd on my keychain

  31. K says:

I wield a 4-foot-long length of cathedral chain as my keychain. Clips to my belt loop, so I can’t forget the keys in the car, and serves as a nasty mini-morningstar if someone wants to pick a fight with me. Amazing how fast people back off when you have a mass of keys whirling on a few feet of chain, fast enough to whistle…

  32. Nick Steele says:

Not too lucky for the Rabbit, eh?

  33. the Scarf says:

aww…I think its cute that Biff wanted the lucky rabbit foot without hurting the rabbit. It doesn’t work like that Biff!

I never liked rabbit feet…I don’t like that they kill rabbits just for the key chain…and the fur…Its really sad…

  34. Elkian says:

It ain’t lucky for the RABBIT.

  35. Cinders says:

I have a 124 year old lucky rabit foot 🙂 its a kilt pin with a garnet set in the top. i used to beg my mum to let me wear it all the time but i was only alowed to wear it on sundays. (Not Scotish btw i only have the one Scotish ansester)

  36. Pancho says:

I got a nifty keychain flashlight (hi-power LED) at a local computer store that has a built-in crank for the dynamo. It says it’ll give you two minutes of light for 15 seconds of cranking. It has yet to run out of power. Weird.

I think maybe that’s where all the power from YOUR flashlights has run off to.

  37. Jean says:

I had a rabbit foot once. It creeped me out because it was quite definitely was real, it had claws. *shudder* Luckily, the cat enjoyed it a lot and I put it on a string to use as a cat toy. It eventually got lost.

  38. MrD says:

Poor Biff, he’s got spare keys for all of his cars just inside his front door, but his house keys are on -this- keyring.

  39. Romano Giovanni says:

So there was this one frame comic of a bunny rabbit with bloody stumps for all four legs and it has a thought bubble over it that says “I’m so unlucky.” That is just so horribly adorable and I think of it every time I see or hear about rabbits foot key chains.

  40. YukiSnowflake says:

…My keyring is actually a giant collection of loads of those cheap keyrings you get from machines in keyrings, and also some things that arent actually keyrings.
The weirdest thing Ive ever had on my keyring was a little paperclip sculpture, but when biff stole my collection, he took it off and took it aswell (i lost it)

  41. I think the rabbit’s foot thing is kind of creepy, but I do think good luck charm is a powerful thing for one’s mind to be lucky. So I got myself a four leaf clover good luck keyring.
