#199 – Phase

Amongst all the useful superpowers out there like flight or super strength there are a lot of other useless or inconvenient ones. I always wanted to either be able to time travel or have all traffic lights turn green right before I approached them.

  1. Stryker says:

All traffic lights turning green before you get there, now THAT is a usefull power for the common man!… that or super speed, whichever is easier to get i suppose…

  2. Iethloc says:

Did Biff’s head phase partially through itself? It seems…thinner.

Or…did he become 2D to slip through 3D materials?! Somehow…

    But, he’s already 2D…so 1D? 1.5D? 3.1415926535D?

  3. Fishgirl says:

Doesn’t Biff already have a power? I mean, he does appear to be invincible…

  4. Eleanor says:

I think that has something to do with him having a very good doctor and idiot’s luck.
Ever notice that? The dumber you are, the more likely that you will come out of something unscathed.

  5. Ashe says:

I Always wanted the superpower of being able to generate a ball of absolute darkness around me that only I could see in. I hate trying to sleep with light aorund me. Night lights drive me insane.

  6. dragonbrad says:

ya know, biff seems to be able to bend water, so why doesn’t he just lift himself up with his telecenisis pull himself up, what is that green liquid in that bowl, great comics chris.

  7. dragonbrad says:

for a biff comic it should say”when biff grew a mustache ,it was hard for him to eat” and he is trying to eat a sandwich but he is he is try ing to shove his sandwich with his(equaly sized to his mouth)mustache.

  8. creep says:

haha… more power to biff! this one is hilarious!

but one thing not really related.. you seriously gotta do something about that crop on the banner up top.. how it cuts off the top of biff’s head and brows… aarrgghh… I dont know why but is driving me nuts!!!

  9. Chris says:

The green liquid is pea soup of course.

  10. Zach says:

The super power that I always wanted was that anything printed on any t-shirt I was wearing was automatically true. for example if the t-shirt said “I can fly” it would be true and I would be able to fly. It would always be something kind of dumb though like “I’m better at video games than you.

  11. Josher says:

If his power activates too much, he’ll end up in the ground, or in the center of the earth. What if it activates when he is right above a ‘forbidden room’ (women’s restroom). Whenever I’ve seen passing through objects. The person has control on whether they pass through the floor/ground or not. What would happen if his clothes don’t stay with him?

  12. Tinned Moron says:

Brilliant would be an understatement, but a word to accurately describe this comic does not yet exist, and if it does, then only in the seventh and fifth dimensions, those are the best dimensions.

I also wonder about useless powers, like being invisible when no ones looking, or flight, but being too heavy to lift yourself more than a few inches, and being able to change the colour of milk, although that would be funny. How come we never see any boring dramas about those?

  13. Cheez says:

Hey! next episode is no.200! Planning anything special?

  14. DrGlenn says:

The comic is awesome, I’ve been reading it a while now but I have never bothered posting until now.

This one reminds me of a recurring dream I have: I’m walking along in the park that is near where I used to live when suddenly I fall through the floor, everything goes black then (end of dream) I wake up as if I’ve just fallen onto the bed on my back

  15. Noodles says:

    Hey,
    This is my 3rd.. 4th something-th post

I like the idea of Biff being more powerful than he already is πŸ˜€ (We all know he’s superpowerful) but I’ve seen something like this!

It was on TV, and before you go “You idiot, cartoons aren’t real”; it was a documentary about Einsteins theorys.

I won’t go into detail because that’d confuse most readers (and I can’t really remember the fussy stuff) but! there is a 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance of something going through another substance due to a tiny gap in some kind of space/time thing. So technically, this could happen.. even if it were very rare.

So yeah, good comic; Keep it up πŸ˜›

    Noodles x

  16. gholam says:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_biff created this one (or more) of you may whant to improve it

  17. Kami says:

Being able to turn ALL lights green in front of you? That would mean every light in the intersection at the same time, a very destructive power indeed!

There are many useless powers to draw from, however, such as the ability to always pull out just less than the amount required to make a purchase, the ability to imagine you are flying, and the ability to make drunks lose their balance.

  18. some kid says:

i just ate a bowl of pea soup

  19. dragonbrad says:

is pea soup thick, creamy,or just plain gnasty,I’ve never tried it myself, but people say its good so,i think i will try it. great comics chris. Almost to 200(people clapping…then a riot starts because someone throws a chair)go chris.

  24. Cheez says:

”I always wanted to either be able to time travel or have all traffic lights turn green right before I approached them.”
Those are good powers, but Invisibility is the power I’ve always wanted.

  25. Plutos the Bubbleman has the power to see through solid glass, to scale tall stairs & to fly with the aid of gravity.

  26. Wind-Up Monkey says:

I had a problem similar to that once… My heat-vision went haywire on me.

  35. I am Satan, I am Jesus Christ says:

So fellow biff readers anyone have any interesting storys or anything? You all must be pretty cool people seeing as you read the book of biff.

  36. calan ree says:

i love checking the comments after reading the comic. you’re definitely a cool bunch.

stay tuned, because you’ll be seeing some guest comics here (myself included) while chris is away. it will be fun to see how different artist’s approach the wonderful madness that is Biff. πŸ™‚

  37. I am Satan, I am Jesus Christ says:

“i love checking the comments after reading the comic. you’re definitely a cool bunch.”
Agreed. And thats why i think Biff should get a forum sometime so we can all just talk πŸ˜›

Looking forward to seeing the guest comics.

  38. videocrazy says:

    This feels Danny Phantom-ish

  39. tushy snifffer says:

Biff is a great big putz. I love to see how putzy he really is. My dog has fleas that are larger than he is.

  40. Zaikanata says:

And I thought passing through objects was a blessing. but once one sees this comic they’ll rethink their opinion. xD

  41. Vis says:

Aww. Found this from a random banner-ad and just read it from the begining.

I love it! I’ve been looking for a comic like this for a long time, and the comments are often just as entertaining as the comics themselves (I don’t like reading things where there’re no comments)

I hope things get better for you soon! I’ll be keeping an eye on this~

  42. XRS says:

Eleanor: I think thats LITERALLY “what you don’t know, won’t hurt you” in effect XD

  43. TKort says:

Haha! I always wanted to shrink so I could explore my house (like crawl through my mom’s house plants and stuff!).

Then there was my crazy High School Physics teacher (for both grade 11 and 12) who always liked to tell us that one day he might walk through the wall (and proceeded to walk into the wall to see if he could).. finally in grade 12 he explained that the theory was actually more like if you accelerated someone really fast they’d probably pass through and make a neat interference pattern on the other side of the wall.. hehe..

  44. ZYXWVUT says:

    I want the Unrandomizing power.

  45. monoXcide says:

I too have wanted to have super powers in traffic. Mine would be called Traffic Moses – The ability to have all the cars in front of you part like the Red Sea. Just big giant walls of cars with a clear path for me. And when I get out of the traffic, have the wall-o-cars crash down on the tailgaters

  46. Bob says:

Well, there is such a device called a MIRT that could turn the lights infront of you green as you approached, but its highly illegal.

  47. Mint Sharpie says:

Oh. My. God. I laughed SO hard at this one! I’m loving it!

  48. Frank says:

The superpower I always wished I could have was to be able to see one second into the future. that way, I would know what people would say, and say it right when they said it.
    EVERY TIME!

  49. darkpheonix XIII says:

time control would be awesome. I’d figure out what a friend is going to say, go back in time a litte bit, then say it with them.

  50. darkpheonix XIII says:

just read frank’s, and that seem’s easier.

  51. Rachel says:

i want to shapeshift and be able to use the powers of whatever I shapeshifted into ^_^

  52. Elkian says:

It least it doesn’t affect his clothes….
    …that we can see.
