Chapter: Comics
When I was a kid I never went to a movie the week it came out. We had a bunch of smaller local theaters that were only $1.50 per ticket. The movies only tok a few weeks to get there so it was never a big deal to wait. The best part was that we always had plenty of money left over for popcorn, candy and soda. I didn’t start sneaking food into a theater until I was a teenager and had to use my own money.
Today’s Maximumble is on the run.

Kinda like an extra pocket – one no one will search!
or sneak an extra personal item onto a plane and if it trips their metal detector claim its a replacement hip
Funny thing is, I work at a theater just like that. Only it takes good movies a month or so to reach us.
$1.50? Wow. Here and now, movie tickets cost at least 10 times that much. Cinema in Switzerland is rather expensive. On the plus side, the local cinemas at my place (other than most in Switzerland) do allow to bring your own snacks and drinks (no alcohol and nothing too crumbly, though) so you don’t have to sneak it in.
Or maybe “don’t forbid” rather than “allow”. It’s obvious they’d prefer you’d buy it from them, but they’re probably aware the tickets alone are expensive enough, especially for students with no own income, yet. And that one can get the DVD for the price of 2 tickets half a year later or for the price of one ticket 2 years later and watch the movie at home, maybe eating significantly cheaper snacks from the supermarket, if one feels like it.
Should I guess that its going to be organs week?
Am I the only one who noticed that Biff is hollow?

Or, you know, get it off the net for free, right after release. They should really think twice before imposing dick rules and/or prices.
@das-g
But that would be piracy and everyone knows piracy is wrong and punishable by fines of ZOMGWTF and 5 years in prison.
Mr. Hallbeck, you need an editor for your posts! 😀 (Hint hint)
@Dustin
Actually, it takes YOUR theater a month to reach the movie! hehe 😛
Ha, I frequently bring a backpack into the theater loaded to the seams and no one ever looks twice. Grilled sandwiches, troughs of home-popped popcorn, box wines, anything goes as long as you’re not making noise.
The trick (at least around here) to get away with bringing outside food and drink into the movie theatre is to buy at least one thing at the concession, then even if you blatantly and completely unobscured bring in outside food they won’t even bat an eye at it.
