#1117 – Crumbled

I’ve never gone to one of my high school reunions. I guess the main reason is that most of the people I hung out with were younger or older than me. I think most of the night would be “Hey… that guy from the hallway!” or “Hey… that girl from 3 tables to the left in the cafeteria!”

    Did Biff attend Sunnydale High?

  2. Flargon says:

And he just got that body back from shop.

  3. Greyryder says:

We moved the summer before my senior year, and I was attending a regional vocational school, so I never actually attended the high school I graduated from.

I can’t even begin to imagine the level of awkwardness that would cause at a reunion, which is why I’ve never gone to one of mine.

  4. Luc says:

I love it that a high-school reunion would be one of the rare occasions biff wears a (hideous) long sleeve shirt. Trying to impress his former classmates?

  5. Tomixcomics says:

    LOL! Hilarious comic.

  6. Baughbe says:

Where we live, our schools are self demolishing.

  7. Jenny says:

Never been to one of my high school reunions, either. I was either bullied or ignored by most of my classmates (comes with being the weird fat girl), so the prospect of seeing those guys again… yeah, not something I’d look forward to.

Come to think of it, “demolition day” would be a fitting theme for a highschool reunion with those people…

  8. Wizard says:

I haven’t seen some of my high school classmates in twenty years. Which was the best thing about the last twenty years…

  9. Chris says:

@Flargon – Isn’t that how it always goes?

  10. Naznarreb says:

My 10 year high school reunion was canceled due to lack of interest

  11. tekaramity says:

@Luc – Aw, don’t be so harsh. It’s not like nobody else owns a similarly hideous long-sleeved shirt.

*discreetly slides closet door shut* Not that I do or anything.

I had my 10 year high school reunion at the end of July 2010. I had said I wasn’t going to it a week or so before. Then went out for a walk around 10:30pm and decided to drop in for a bit. Instead I ended up sticking around for a few hours. Didn’t get back home till 4am. The place the reunion was at closed at 1-2am, so some of us headed to a guy’s place to party there. It broke up around 3am. Since I had no car and no ride, I ended up walking home from the north end of town to my place on the south side. Plus it rained, so when I got home I was really soaked.

It was nice to catch up with a lot of friends, but if I hadn’t found one of my high school friends on Facebook in the first place, I would’ve never known about the reunion. Now, I have more high school classmates as friends on Facebook. Some I haven’t seen in 5-10 years
At the reunion, they asked me, “What’s with the long hair? What’s with the Hello Kitty?” and so on. We said our goodbyes and moved on.

I am proud to own several hideous long-sleeved shirts. (kinda required for my future job too) I am in school to teach High School.

And while i will never attend my own HS reunion for similar reasons as Jenny, I will hopefully be one of those teachers that helps ease and/or eliminate the awkwardness of the teenage recluse.

i see my old classmates from time to time. i pretend not to know them, they pretend not to know me, we both walk away happy.

  15. MaskedMan says:

My HS reunions basically amount to running across random people from school, and thinking “Hey… that person looks familliar…”

  16. Resident_Hill says:

    @Naznarreb

Did you by chance go to Falmouth High School? My ten year reunion was this year and was cancelled due to lack of interest as well.

I wasn’t going to go to it anyways though 😛

  17. Paul says:

well i dont have highschool reunion stories, but comunity college stories i have,…… my local comunity colledge was reffered to as the “13th” grade, cause it accepted anyone and was cheep to get your humanities classes out of the way,……thank god my classes are always at nights on the geek side of campus,. i dont feel like seeing those idiots again

  18. Cari says:

@ Chris: “Hey…that guy” or “Hey..that girl?” Good thing your name could be for either.

I didn’t go to my reunion either. Most of my classmates didn’t know I existed, so I didn’t see any point in reminding them that they still don’t know I exist.

  19. YukiYukimura says:

    @Jenny – …okay, THAT is creepy.
You don’t go for the EXACT same reason as me!
…you never do get much attention being the weird fat girl…

  20. YukiYukimura says:

    DOUBLEPOST!:
@Resident Hill – YOU ARE THE REASON IT WAS CANCELLED!
IT WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE YOU DIDNT GO!
(*I LOVE guiltripping people. all comments meant as jokes.*)

  21. reynard61 says:

@ Jenny: I feel your thirst for Vengance. (Although I was a weird, skinny guy; the sentiment remains the same…)

  22. grapy says:

i dont go to high school i am homeschooled

  23. Miles says:

I figured I’d go to my reunion if they could find me. I knew about it, but I figured, meh, why bother if no one is going to invite me special. =D
I got along with most everyone at high school, but not so much as to bother keeping in touch with anyone.

  24. Belimoth says:

I have the exact same problem as you, that’s why I talked to some people and got permission to go to class reunions that aren’t actually my year.
