I’ve seen many articles that say you should just “talk” to your neighbors and “have conversations”. Paint the inside of your windows black is much more reasonable. Then just do all your grocery shopping at 2AM it’s like they’re never there.

But what if you happen to live in an apartment? Lock the door all the time and get an angry guard dog? …Well, I keep the door locked at all times, and I’ve got a quite ferocious dog *ahem*. (because a mix-breed weighing 30 pounds can be quite dangerous, huh?)
Just keep odd hours and be very quiet. One place I lived, several of the neighbors actually asked the landlord why no one lived in my apartment.
Unless your next-doors have pet beavers, I see nothing wrong with the plan.

there’s actually trees surrounding my house like this. apparently whoever lived here before us didn’t like their neighbors.
