#1553 – Tabletop

Most of the board games we had growing up used dice of some sort. We weren’t always successful in keeping track of them. We frequently would setup a game and then have to scavenge through the other games to get enough dice to play.

And good luck, finding anything other than the old-fashioned six-sided ones! Every game now has to have its own exotic polygonal dice, different from all the others!

  2. I have never played a game where you need another sort of die than the six-sided one, but I still have a few dice with more sides, even though there is no use for them in any of the games that I own. I just thought these “weird-looking” dice were pretty…

  3. We have an old tin that just holds dice. It’s filled to almost overflowing, but we never have to look any further.

Somehow, we wound up with a bag of 100 tiny six-sided dice. I don’t remember why we got them, but I think it cost us a little more than $1, and it’s fun to be able to hold that many dice at once.

Good for those times where you need to roll for epic-level spell damage.

In case one does lose standard 6-sided dice (it could happen, although every home has at least one die, regardless of whether or not there are board games or gamblers about), you can put dots or numbers on a regular pencil, and roll it across the table.

Ever thy playing Scrabble with just a handful of letters, some dice and checker pieces? Me neither. Sounds fun though.

I must be the most boring person here. When we lost our game dice, I would make a random number generator on a computer. I even added in the option for different number of sides other than six.

lol best part about finding gamer droppings is when you find a 4 sided dice…with your foot. If you don’t know what I mean, try looking up what a 4-sider looks like and you’ll understand.

My high school Geography teacher hand carved wooden dice for each of his classes. He would roll it, then the student in that numbered seat would answer. He also had a 100-sided dice carved from jade.
