#1478 – Gulped

People don’t litter like they used to. At least around here when I was a kid there was always lots of trash on the side of the roads. I would walk to school and see the same empty soda can that I would flatten a little more each day. Now I can walk those same streets today and see absolutely zero garbage.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the reverse in this area, with more trash than before.

Where do you live, there is trash all over rockingham county NC

  3. It’s the reverse in Sweden as well! It hasn’t changed much since I was a child (the 90’s) but mom says that there is way more trash now compared to when she was a child.

      Well dang, that’s a shame.

First they win the World Series, then the Super Bowl. We gave them space flight just to get rid of them.

Where I live, a lot of my family live out in the country, and there seems to be a few unofficial dump sites along the back roads. the state has a ongoing program fo combat this, with TV ads, a phone number, that kind of thing.

Although it’s kind of amusing to see a broken-down recliner by itself in a ditch, like a improvised redneck rest stop.

Litter’s been going down in my neck of the woods, with one nasty exception: dog crap. If I want to walk on the grass anywhere, it’s a safe bet I’ll have to hose my shoes off before I go back inside. Honestly, I think I liked the 7-Eleven cups and burger wrappers more.

Litter isn’t much of a problem here. The worst areas are locations such as the mall.
