#1435 – Snoozer

What is your favorite smells to wake up to? I have a feeling coffee is a popular one. Mine is the bacon, egg and potato breakfast my mother-in-law makes on Sunday mornings when we are visiting. Wakes me right up!

Today’s Maximumble can dig it.

I sense pain in Biff’s immediate future.

I predict hot toast up the nostrils… But there’s no doubt he’ll be up and awake!

  2. I think my favorite smell is a quite unusual one, and I’ll probably never wake up to smell it first thing in the morning (or whenever I wake up), because then I have to fall asleep in a tattoo studio! Yes, the only smell I like that much is tattoo ink, or whatever it is that has that typical “tattoo studio smell”. It’s like a wonderful mix of a fresh forest smell and cleaning agents, it’s really hard to describe!

I predict biff will soon wake up due to fresh projectile toast.

If he puts the breader up there too, he can use this alarm over and over with the same slices of bread. Like rechargeable batteries.

The usual smells are all very nice, but my favorite is the smell of baking bread.

Back when I still wore a uniform, the night baker on the boat (That’s ‘submarine,’ to you lubbers 😛 ) would get permission to re-align the ventilation system late on the mid-watch, routing the smell of fresh-baked bread all through the hull. Fantastic way to wake up, and one of the small joys that made serving in submarines so worthwhile.

My favourite smell is the mixture in my room. Lucky me. I have a lot of soaps and scented candles and I love the combination. Especially the watermelon soap. That one’s awesome.
I can’t wake up to any smell of food, actually. Well, I can, but it makes me feel really really nauseous. I’m very sensitive to smells and the only time I can stand any smell of food is when I’m hungry, something I’m not very often.

The smell of toast…I just love that smell.

Then again, I used to wake up to noises more often than smells.

Ah the early morning smells of baking biscuits, sausage gravy, bacon, fried eggs, strong coffee, with the sounds of my Grandma’s houseshoes shuffling about as she made breakfast back in the day, when we’d visit.

  9. Poison says:

On weekends, the smell of any kind of food can wake me up, but on weekdays, the only thing that will get me up is the smell of coffee.

And I think Biff will have lots of crumbs in his bed…

  10. This device would probably have the ability to make me throw up. I mentioned the smell of breakfast first thing in the morning making me feel sick. Toast is the worst offender. It smells good later in the day, in the morning it makes me want to vomit.
