#1432 – Michigan

My best friend growing up had a time capsule put in a stone grill that his dad built in their backyard. I didn’t see it happen but he told me about it and it was sort of a legend of our childhood. Some 25 years later after they had moved away I saw the new owners demolishing the grill. The time capsule contained some scorched photos and newspaper clippings. It was amazing to see the contents after a 25 year buildup but it didn’t quite live up to my childhood dreams.

Today’s Maximumble is furry.

Wow, poor him. I miss that frog.

Hah! That damned ol’ frog finally got his!

  4. I found a frog in my living room once, back when I lived in a house, and it was a big one as well (the frog, not the house)! How it got in is beyond me, because we never kept the door open.

And I have a kinda time capsule-ish thing in a drawer here, but it’s nothing more than a letter that I wrote maybe two years ago, and the envelope reads “open at January 1, 2020”. For some reason I’m pretty sure I’ll feel way more embarrassed than I had expected back then of reading about my past self…

The only time I ever saw that frog was in ads for shows that network ran before another network took over that channel around here.

It’s probably really hard to find specific old cartoons like that on Youtube. Many didn’t have names and you can’t just search “old cartoon episode #52” or something
Speaking of which, does anyone remember the one where a wind spirit attacks a bunch of dwarves that were manufacturing colors for Spring?
