Hey, today is my birthday! Wee! My favorite thing to get on my birthday is new readers! Know anybody that likes jokes? Send them an email, post a link on Facebook, send a tweet, start a thread on your favorite message board, print out a comic and hang it up at work, dress in a gorilla costume holding a big sign with thebookofbiff.com on it and dance around on a street corner! As long as you don’t break any laws or make anyone angry I’ll have an extra happy birthday! Thanks!
Usually in a cubicle farm your desk was convenient to at least one thing. The printer, the break room, the guy with the big bowl of candy on his desk. Somehow through some strange coincidence all of the managers and senior employees had their desks on the outside edge of the floor. The only desks in the building with windows.

At my workplace, there’s a very complicated hierarchy of people who have to be asked if they want to move to a nicer desk (i.e. near a window, more secluded) when one opens up, based on level and seniority.
