#1406 – Claustrophobia

I once worked at an office where the break room had a TV up on the wall that only showed the CNN Headline News channel. This worked out fine when I started. Over the time I worked there the channel changed to “HLN” and added more and more shows of people yelling out of the TV like Glen Beck and Nancy Grace and various celebrity gossip shows. I just stayed at my desk and checked my email instead.

Today’s Maximumble picks it up.

Evidently, it’s called “break room” because some employees need to break their limbs to fit in. Biff was lucky and only had to break some toes of his right foot.

Making employees watch Glenn Beck should be covered OSHA somehow.

Glen Beck..? Nancy Grace..?! Talk about your hostile work environments! I’d rather join Biff in the break room at his business, than have to listen to those two!

So this week will show us Biff’s daily workplace and go through the rules?

Oh god they had this at my old job too. I had a hard time sitting there on break because of hln. It was a terrible channel.

The restaurant I’m working at only allows us to take breaks in the parking garage…and winter’s coming.

Still happy to have a job though!

Just buy a good used van, and add lots of blankets.

In Soviet Russia, room breaks you.

I hate working, but I love going to Microsoft with my dad to try the latest software and sometimes hardware. The breakrooms are usually filled with coffee, tea, an emergency supply of medicines and lots of snacks in a few vending machines. I rarely see my father take a break. Then again, I haven’t been to Microsoft in YEARS, so this should tell you something. BTW, he quit his job @ MS for a plumbing office assistant job and then after a few years, he went back to MS.

…I think I’d break their policy. I love tiny spaces 😀

It looks like a room to break employees…
