#1327 – Watt

I always feel awkward when I have to change a bulb in a ceiling fixture. The stool or office chair or pile of couch cushions are never quite the right height. I always have to hold my arm at a weird angle and I almost fall ove when the bulb suddenly pops out. Then when I’m screwing the new bulb in I always feel like I will turn it one centimeter too far and have it shatter in my hand. Nevermind the fact that I have never fallen or shattered a bulb doing this. Never you mind.

Also, I’ve been having fun on Google Plus, posting sketches and exclusive comics. You can follow me here.

Today’s Maximumble is puffed.

Headache + Uncontrolled change in altitude. 😛

I’m tall enough that I can reach most lightbulbs. OTOH, the ones that are juuust out of reach are intensely frustrating – When you’re tall, it’s embarasing to have to go searching for a step stool. Could be worse though – I’ve changed the nav lights on the fwd mast out to sea… THAT is an experience that’ll test your fear of heights!

Looking at today’s comic, though, I’ll observe that if Biff feels around carefully, he can still change the bulb!

I thought I was the only one to think this every time I go to change a lightbulb! 😛

how many biffs does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Apperently not enough.

biff’s been getting his head stuck in a lot of stuff lately, hasn’t he?

Or times when you realize, just before screwing in the new bulb, that you forgot to shut off the switch, so it’s either go teetering all the way down the three steps and over to the switch, or screw it in anyway and get temporarily blinded and fingers slightly singed for the last turn? I’ve done that. More times than not, actually.

Oh man, that randomly assigned avatar picture reminds me, I found a single candycorn sitting in the middle of a bicycle path, near the end of August this year. I will probably never solve that mystery. Who eats candycorn in August? Well, I guess I would. I didn’t even know it was available in August.
