Chapter: Comics
I guess it’s fairly common to wind up in a career that is not related to the degree you hold. I guess internet is at least related to what I learned in art school. I thought I was going to become an illustrator that did paintings for book covers and magazine articles. After school was over I immediately discovered I hated having someone else tell me what to do. Hilariously it took me another 10 years to realize “people telling me what to do” had nothing to do with “illustration jobs” and everything to do with “jobs”.
Today’s Maximumble makes the switch.

Only funny clown is a dead clown.
Or Biff-clown. XD
Somehow I’m remind of Calvin & Hobbes, where Calvin asks his mom about chainsaws and juggling.
@Biff
How true. College is for saps.
I was never able to understand the hatred or fear that people have for clowns…..
Clowns are scary things that are made up so you can’t see what they really look like, and they distract you so their ninja team can take all your stuff and kill your cat.
Plus, jobs bite.
If you think illustration is hard, I’m a chainsaw proctologist. Who do you think placed those rods into those angry chainsaws for juggling purposes?
In my line of work, you can’t please any of the chainsaws any of the time…
Chainsaws? I remember a show that had a girl say “They’ll only let me in if I’m juggling malfunctioning chainsaws.” (It was a stab at how reality TV was fixed)
@Steuby; Win!
I publish medical study reports – I was trained as an Electronics Tech and Reactor Operator. Along the way between one and the other, I did marine electrical repair, plastics forming, light construction, sales, and systems analysis.
How’s that for bizarre career path?
I’m glad that stopped showing Bozo the Clown Show….it was creepy as hell
After 4 years of medical school, I work as a graphic designer.
Do your books include the commentaries? I like the comic but I love the commentaries!
My dad has a masters degree in oceanography. He works with computers.
So it was Biff that woke me up this morning with chainsaws just outside my window!
@ malcar: No, that was just me and a door-to-door salesman who had very poor timing. Do you have extra-large trashbags by any chance?…
Why has no one noted that this guy reminds them (because he sure reminds me) of Adam the Clown from Dead Rising!?
