When I was a kid, donating stuff was a big deal. My mom would phone someone and make an appointment for them to come to our house. They would come by and my mom would have the living room filled with garbage bags full of stuff to give away. There was days of preparation leading up to this. Nowadays there’s lots of drop-off boxes in the parking lots of grocery stores and shopping malls. No phone calls or people involved. Just jammed a bag of clothes into the giant metal mailbox on your way to the store to buy more stuff.
Also, if you are in Seattle, come and see me at the Emerald City Comicon starting Friday!
