#1229 – Release

When I was a kid my older brother lived in the basement and had a cat that stayed down there with him. I always knew when my brother wasn’t home to entertain the cat. I would walk down the hallway past the basement door a little cat paw would come shooting out from under it to try and grab my shadow. Fortunately it never got my shadow. It’s still there. I just checked.

Today’s Maximumble is well trained.

I have never had a crazy cat. Never. I fear that this will culminate in sort of cat conspiracy later in life, my visage the unfailing target of all catkind, until at last the death of four hundred thousand scratch marks stops this tokamak of terror.

The Maine Coon Cat, Miss Kitty, if I bathe her, I need a blood transfusion. Weighing in at 30 pounds, she is a large kitty. Of course Porcupine just goes for the jugular when bathed…

On the plus side, we are never ever plagued with rodents… or birds… stray dogs…

I have a cat that goes crazy from the hours of around 9pm until about 8am. He will chase anything, including shadows – but his favorite game is ‘let’s pounce on whatever that thing is under the quilt’. Which usually gets him kicked out of my room for the night.

Dude, the Maximumble link has serious issues. An axe wielding psycho cop? I’m trying to forget those events in my childhood.

Crazy cats? I love crazy cats. They remind me of my childhood.

Issues? I don’t have issues. I have subscriptions. Wanna buy some?

Being in the bag is probably what pissed it off in the first place!

Ahhh… Memories of stuffing a cat into a carrier for a visit to the vet. I remember that pain like it was last week.

Wait… It WAS last week! 😮

@Baughbe – Haha, sorry about that, fixed!

Biff can bleed? That must have been one deadly cat…

  9. my cousins have a cat that acts like a dog sorta just don’t pet her belly no matter what she will bat your head and give you puncture wounds

I have an old cat. She’s 19 and she will at first kiss and then try to gnaw your hand off your wrist with the remaining teeth she has.

That sounds like my cat and her two kittens. (not actually her babies, but she has claimed them.) They’ll wrestle with each other and then our oldest cat will get tired of it and go hide from them so she can nap. That leaves two hyper-active kittens for the rest of us to deal with, and just yesterday, one of them climbed up my leg (covered only with a pair of shorts. Owowow) and tried to take my watch. I’m still sore…

wow. not really sure how to make my first comment. well, I’ve read the entire archive over the course of a year(first I read about 200 then a year later I read the rest). my cat is awesome. whenever it wants to play, he will paw at you with his claws out enough the you feel them, but it’s more like a massage than a scratch.

  13. Hemlock says:

I used to know someone who had a rescued cat that would occasionally go into an ultra-offensive mode. The only way they found to get the cat to detach from someone when such a mood struck it was to hold it underwater until it had the choice of drowning or letting go.

What’s still there, the shadow or the cat?
