#1218 – Ratio

I’m usually the most satisfied with my meals at buffet type restaurants. That’s the best way for me to get the proportions the way my body wants them to be. Too often I’ll be served a cut of meat the size of my head garnished with a tablespoon of potatoes and a single broccoli floret. Maybe in the future the menu will be a touch screen device that will have images of the food and little sliders to adjust the portions to your needs.

Today’s Maximumble is going to be late to work.

already done. I know of a restaurant where you simply use a touchscreen device in the entryhall to order your munch.

In the future, all meals will be served at the dinner table or buffet style. Our way of public dining is based on the principal that the customer is always right. In the future, the word customer in the context of prepared food will mean a person who observes the custom of sitting down to share the meal of the house. Now make it so!

I actually know why that is, Chris! Some chefs (or people trained in food handling) are taught that the meat is the absolute center of the universe on that plate. Nothing else on the plate should match the size of the serving of meat.

I know, it’s dumb, but you can blame the French for it if you want. xP

  8. As much as I like the digital menu slider idea, I guarantee I’d abuse it to get to largest steak possible.
