Chapter: Comics
I recently had a sore throat that lingered for a few weeks. It would wake me up in the middle of the night with a single loud thought of “WATER!” It was the kind of thing that was instantly satisfied by a drink or a cough drop but the millisecond after the cough drop was finally dissolved it would jump back into my life demanding all my attention. Next time I’ll get the family size bag of cough drops.

Gotta be tree week.
I’ve long thought that cough drops should come in jaw-breaker format.
Thus we see the danger of eating nuts that come from trees.
Tell me about it. The numbing lozenge i took only works for like 10 minutes. 😐
And it causes my tongue to go numb for a few hours. Go figure. >_>
Anything that makes your throat sore for a few weeks without explanation should be mentioned to your doc, Chris. Better safe than sorry.
My throat is sore too, but then I’ve got a really bad cold going. I am not, however, willing to take the no-middleman steps Biff seems to be doing….
Well, overlooking the more creative uses for trees from earlier in the week, I’d have to guess today’s theme would be improper consumption. Does this mean that tomorrow Biff gets to meet The Lorax?
Pfft…
…gah…
…i have a cold. My fingers are purple. Some people think I’m strange for walking in almost freezing conditions in a tshirt and shorts.
…
I do not call it self harming. I call it “determination” “stupidity” “hating heat” and “its not even winter yet”.
…
…i need some cocoa…
no… thanksgiving comic?
Make sure you don’t have strep throat Chris…Biff it’s tea not tree!

Well, this is quite funny. I have heard that some of the tougher plants are great as medicine, but apparently Biff didn’t read up on soothing a sore throat.
It makes me itch just looking at it.
drink hot liquids instead of cold liquids, that will ease your throat, even better would be to get medicine in hot liquid form
@ Ciaj: More like the danger of tree-eating nuts…
While Zinc lozenges help (with the same sort of time-out), I’ve found that a good gargle of Listerine (or one of the house brand alternatives) helps quite a bit longer. Also some 5,000 to 15,000 mg (yes, 5-to-15 Grams! I use a teaspoon of Trader Joe’s C crystals, with half that volume of baking soda for a fizzy drink, morning and evening) of vitamin C, and according to The Lancet, some 5,000 IU of vitamin D a day. Less or shorter colds, no flus this year. This in no way is medical advice, I am NOT a doctor; it works for me…
