#1105 – Stature

A few times a year I pick up some solid color t-shirts from Target. I wear a size medium. The styles change slightly each time but the fit is always the same. I was recently at a Walmart and noticed that they had their solid t-shirts on sale and they had a color I liked that I didn’t currently have. I was disappointed when a few days later I put that shirt on to find that Walmart’s “medium” shirt was twice the width of my body and almost down to my knees.

  1. It’s funny because my father-in-law’s name is Jim. And he is big.
    =D

This one one almost doesn’t need a caption to be so amazing.

I wish that different brands wouldn’t use different sizes as standards. It is so obnoxious augh.
My father shops at a Big & Tall store, although I like to call it a haberdashery because it is so much more fun to say.

What brand do you get? I need some new shirts.

Just be grateful it’s not one of those finger-traps, Biff. xD

  6. There’s a Mario reference here somewhere.
Also, I wish there were “Small and short” stores. At least too-big clothes can be hemmed, but there are limits.

Look at the bright side, Chris.

You don’t have to buy nightshirts for a while.

If you think that’s bad, buying clothes for my daughter is a nightmare: Not only does the sizes have nothing to do with the size of the clothes (on a size 16 there is nothing that is 16 inches) but there are Teen, Miss and Adult sizes that use the same numbering system, but does not designate which system they are using. So when the tag says its a 16, you don’t know if that’s for Teen or Adult. And of course different manufactures have different ideas of just how big a 16 is. You know it is all a plot. A dirty vicious evil plot. And someday I’ll expose them all! Muhahaha!

Just imagine this. I wear an XL from walmart, and I’m 5’1″. Stupid overly broad shoulders. I can’t even put on a medium without Hulking out of it.

Oh Biff, why do you always wait until you get home. =(

^ (Having said that, on the release of Sonic Unleashed (I’m a huuuuge fan of the Sonic series so that game was a major deal for me), it wasn’t until I’d made the 25 minute walk home that I discovered the guy at the shop had accidentally given me an empty game box. So I can hardly talk).

Sure Biff can find a use for them.

Look at the bright side: Now you don’t have to buy a sleeping bag!

And stockings like that will be really useful, come Christmastime…

biff will have no troubles getting those socks back from the sock monster

Gives a whole new spin on the term “body sock!”

Just finished reading the entire archive again. It is something I really should do more often. These comics are some of the funniest in existence.

  17. Acies says:

    i need this.

  18. KZero says:

Woo! Caught back up on the archives!

(I like to have a big chunk to read rather than a comic a day… not that it was intentional to fall behind to be honest.)

I am a BIG girl…I usually wear a 2X for T-Shirts and other tops. I wear a 3X for pants. I wear an XL panty and a sports bra that is a 48-50 (I’m way too big for a regular bra). I find it very confusing especially since I’m also short. I hope someone will help me with finding clothes that fit and are fashionable.

Looking at Biff, he’s a little confused. I guess the reason the sizes in numbers or letters varies because Americans have grown quite fat.
