#1019 – Durum

I wonder if in the future we will have large multi-purpose helper robots like in the movies. It seems more likely that we will have lots of smaller single task helpers. I need one to keep track of my pens. Have a little rfid tag on all of them so once a day the bot could do a sweep of the house and put them away again. Penbot.

Toronto! Let’s hang out and stuff! See you at TCAF!

I have a daughter who likes to draw and hates to clean up after herself. I would totally buy a Penbot! And a Librarianbot to keep my books in order, while we’re at it …

  2. Chuck says:

That dog reminds me of the deathbot dog from Fahrenheit 451.

  3. Tomixcomics says:

Oh wow, a “Lady and the Tramp” refference! You even got it down to the door! That is awesome!

  4. jake says:

    Jesu Christo!
that’s the funniest Biff i’ve read in a long time. thanks for that.

  5. ladyamethyst83 says:

that is just awesome! The Lady and the Tramp. one of my favs.

  6. Grug says:

Is this the first Biff comic where we get to see another character?

  7. AwakeAgain says:

    Brilliant! Clearly well researched too.

  8. Micah says:

Biff might want to be careful. His antennae are a lot longer than the dog’s. He might get controlled himself.

  9. Paku-san says:

If the tramp is elecrtronic, is the lady as well? i wounder who else is in on biffs conspiracy.

  10. i.half4 says:

Dear God! Can’t we have a future where people will have the time to do most simple things by themselves?

  11. MaskedMan says:

    Micah wins the comments. 😀

All I want to know are two things:
    1) Where’s Rosie the Robot Maid when I need her?
    2) Where’s my flying car?

  12. Cari says:

Can that penbot reach all of the pens my cat knocks under the refrigerator?

If MaskedMan gets a flying car, then I want one too!

  13. Robert Charleson says:

What I want are Tiny robotic sentries or AA Guns that I can set out in my kitchen to shot down the occasional fly… Who doesn’t want Miniature AA guns to do that???

    1. Josh says:

They have lasers that fry mosquitoes in flight.

  14. i.half4 says:

    Agreed. Micah wins.

He suggests much that can not be explained in the space of a comment box, leaving, as does Biff, very much to our imaginations. (assuming gender based on Micah, the Hebrew prophet)

I find it absolutely hilarious that the weekend you come to Toronto we get struck with an enormous cold snap. It dropped about 20 degrees from last week, or 35 Fahrenheit. It normally doesn’t snow this time of year.

  16. linuxxorcist says:

what it’ll probably be is every appliance ever is connected and individually programmable, so when you wake up, a load of clothes is just hot out of the dryer, the water heater is hot, a pot of coffee is coming, and toast is being buttered as you walk down the stairs

oh, and penbot has a fistfull of bics for you
it’d actually really good in an office to have a penbot, or a toolbot in my basement

  17. Lurch says:

lessee m- a penbot to collect all your pens… then, you’d need a bot to TELL you where the pens are. You could call it a ‘tellerbot’

  18. Radical Edward says:

    “Hey Joe! Look who’s here!”

First quote that came to mind after reading this comic. I never saw Lady and the Tramp to it’s entirety. Only a song sequence “He’s A Tramp” and some scenes from the Platinum Edition trailer. Only reason I know that quote? I hear it everytime I pop in the Toy Story DVD.

  19. YukiSnowflake says:

actually, that PROBABLY wouldntr work, as one of his biffbrows is sticking out past the fence.
Then again, the owner of the house might thing it was a piece of string. Of course, eyebrows dont look like that, do they (*yes they do, genius. oh wait, crap, my voices are typing aga-*)
    lalalalalalalalalchickenand meantballs~
(*i dont like meatballs! shut up voices!*)

    better.
