Chapter: Comics
The first time my dad took me to see the Chicago Cubs play was very disorienting. Everything was so far away and I really had no idea what was going on most of the time. I was so used to the TV giving a running commentary, it’s sudden absence was startling.

Ha! Thats a good ne, I remember when I was little and played T-ball (its like little baseball) I’d stand in the out feild digging in ant holes.
I know that feeling. When I go watching a soccer game I always wait for the replay and close up of a scene until my brain realizes that there is no such thing in RL.
Oooooh! Luck of the Biffish!
Which is why I have a commentator who lives inside my head Allllll the time…….
Sports week! Totally called it.
I’m not really that big on sports events. Which is strange since I was MVP of the women’s division in high school.
I have never found a four-leaf clover. My father has, but not me.
yay irony
Wait, they play that game outside the box in my living room? Aw come on, now you’ve just gone too far.
I have never found a four leaf clover. I even specifically sat in a clover patch once for hours looking. My wife on th eother hand has eagle death ray vision and walked by, bent down and plucked one up then before she even straightened up, said ‘oh hey here’s another one!” Glad Biff at least found one!
Illustrated Guide to Head Injuries Week!
I’m going to go for Irony Week. (Finding a four-leaf clover was bad luck.)
I can’t remember, did Chris ever make one involving a rubber band ball?
So, the theme is what? Trinity plus one?
…learning to fly week? (Book 3, wasn’t it, where Ford learned to fly)
Am I the only one that dislikes the commentator in sports, especially when there’s nothing to comment on?
I remember listening to the Cubs on WGN radio as a kid… it was a lazy summer afternoon thing, cubs in the background, projects to work on, dreams to day… dream. Etc. Good times…
Anyway, I gotta say I read Biff as much for the comics as for the anecdotes. Thanks for conjuring up a good old memory!
I once found a six leaf clover, a few fives, and some fours.
Too bad I couldn’t find a seven leaf…
This page made me laugh out loud!
