Chapter: Comics
My favorite version of this happens while I’m out driving around with someone and we stop at a red light. I’ll look out the passenger window and see something that reminds me of something… what is it?… perhaps it was from a dream I had this morning… it’s a foggy memory and kind of hard to focus on… At this point I catch movement in my peripheral vision because I have let just enough pressure off the breaks that the car has started to inch forward. I yell “AAAAAA!” and slam on the breaks while quickly gripping the steering wheel with both hands. After a short pause a voice speaks from the passenger side. “Uhh… what was that all about?”

Did the bike-into-lake gig oggling a pretty jogger in a bikini top and shorts… And no, she didn’t even stop to laugh. I doubt she even knew what she’d casued. 😛
Running in a bikini top? That sounds painful.
I see monster frog eyes poking up out of the lake.
This is why I’m afraid of ever learning to drive. Even when walking I’m looking around all over. I just love scenery in general, and noticing little details I imagine most people don’t. Like I’ll see a drainpipe I never noticed before and be genuinely a bit thrilled. It’s doubley-so when I’m being driven somewhere. I can’t bear to think if I was driving I would have to concentrate on the road 99% of the time.
used to go to school by moped, once in the glory days. Had to drive for half an hour, nearly all of it on the low frequented sidewalk/driveway along a main road. ‘Cause it was sooooo boring to tottle along with 25 km/h I usually had my nose in a book while steering with one hand, one leg resting on the gear casing. Still I cannot image why I never had an accident. Possibly luck of the idiot.
JezMM, If you are paying 99% attention to the road, then you are paying about 50% more than everyone else. Having been a professional driver, I know just how little attention most people pay to the road. And yet so few accidents actually happen. So you can relax a little and get your license, and insurance, lots and lots of insurance.
Does it ever happen to you that you arrive home on your bike but you have no recollection of riding the 7 km from school to home? I used to be thinking about lots of stuff on my bike, while nicely stopping for red lights and such.
My parents banned cloud watching on road trips. I would not stop pointing stuff out to them. For the whole 5 hour ride. Nothing but clouds.
I had fun, though.
I get very distracted by things while I’m driving, especially clouds and rainbows. A car ride conversation usually consists of:
“I see a bunny firefighter!”
“THE ROAD, WATCH THE ROAD.”
I feel the same way about those wind energy farms. Driving up I-65 to Chicago, I have to force myself not to look at them because the windmills are just hypnotic to me.
@Chuck;
She wasn’t top-heavy. Just shapely. 🙂 Besides which, in *my* youth, bikini tops were a bit more… substantial. Now git off me lawn! 😛
@i.half4;
You win the comments! 😀
Thankyu. Thankyu very much.
Just wish I could remember why I saw it that way… Ha! I remember where I saw eyes like that before. It was on a dragon in a Bizzarro panel.
…Hope Chris doesn’t mind the mention of a *syndicated* type here.
“Oooo it looks like a bu-Woah!” *Splash*
Come to think of it now, the dragon from bizzaro was very different. I only confused it because that panel had a hallucinogenic theme, and like the dragon I remember, those bike wheels are clearly making Kaleidoscope Eyes. I can almost see the dragon I remember, but where is it from…
…I think I remember it having eyes made of orange slices.
The wheels are probably what the people at Loch Ness saw.
Loch Biff?
