#927 – Flavor

Gingerbread was one of those flavors that I never got into as a kid. I could sometime choke it down if there was enough sugar-saturated icing troweled on the surface. Somehow it has become a flavor that I look forward to as an adult. I don’t know when the transition happened. Probably over the summer during the yearly gingerbread drought.

Wow… that is some mouth Biff’s got there.

Somehow, it more creepy than Biff’s usual squiggly-line chompers.

We have a gingerbread house…I’m not sure how I’m supposed to eat it.

I always like gingerbread, but the houses were usually too hard to eat. Fresh gingerbread cookies, though? Oh, yeah!

I wonder if the mouth controller Biff has there applies electric shock if he makes a wrong move? If I were designing the game, that’s how I’d rig it!
    😀

I love gingerbread men during Xmas time. I miss them through out the year. No gingerbread men this year though, sadness. Ginger snaps, while okay, just aren’t the same. Also, aren’t great with out milk. I want gingerbread men and egg nog. =

Ginger is a hard sharp flavor, one most people have to grow into. And most commercial cookies use too much of it. A cookie that burns your throat is just a little too spicy. Now Chili that burns your throat, that’s what its supposed to do! Hmmm, Ginger Chili?

    Biff just lost The Game.
    and so did you.

I was like that with toffee – Almond Roca, to be specific, although any toffee choked me as a kid. Now I can’t get enough of it. Please pass the candy dish, Biff!

    @John ~ aaaaagh! Blast you!

  13. Micah says:

I like gingersnaps better than gingerbread. There is a certain brand that just tastes great in coffee.

  14. Random says:

Interesting add-on Biff has there. I wonder how it would be used? I don’t really care for gingerbread either, but occasionally, I’ll eat it.

@John: AAAAGGGGHH! You got me! But since you posted it, you thought of The Game first so you lost first :).

That’s a game you don’t want to play 2nd if there’s only the single set of controllers. Sort of like the Wii Colonoscopy game, or Wii Catheter Adventures. Man I hate those games.

Homemade gingerbread I find to be nice. It’s best while fairly warm and just out of the oven, but if it’s made well it isn’t too bad later on. Store-bought gingerbread is either too sweet or too gingery, I find.

You can’t just tell us we lost the game, how it’s done is that you, by thinking of it, lose the game, you cannot win the game at all if you are the one to start it.

The rest of us then have roughly 30 minutes to forget that you lost the game. If we manage to think about it, or are somehow reminded of an event that makes us remember, then we lose as well and must announce that the game has once again been lost.

This triggers another instance where survivors must then once again forget that they had heard about the game. Or risk setting it off again.

Ways to force this is to make your loss as memorable as possible, like saying “Blue Cheese! You know what? I just lost the game.”

Let’s say that two days later your friend orders spicey buffalo wings with blue cheese. He remembers the blue cheese remark which leads to him remembering why you said it in the first place, he then announces he lost the game.

He announces that he has lost the game, you already lost so its of no consequence, but everyone else must fear, they’ll remmember that he was at the pizza place, and then they’ll remember he lost, and they will then lose.

The Game is an example of ironic processing, also known as the White Bear Phenomenon, in which attempts to avoid thinking about a ‘white bear’ makes the thought of the ‘white bear’ more persistant.

This however means that in my mentioning of how the game actually works, I have myself Lost the Game, The rest of you make your time, for mine was up. I leave you with a trail to fail by, with blue cheese. Hopefully you won’t remember. The game ends when either everyone you know has lost, or the New Year is up. The Game then continues.

Sorry to be a lecture but it used to be a great game before people started throwing it out like a meme, also biff is incapable of Losing the Game, since he isn’t occupied with it at the momment, I’m pretty sure he’s only thinking about ginger bread at the momment.

I’ve always liked the bite of ginger, even as a little kid. I used to have a friend, an elderly lady I went to church with, and she would give me ginger snaps every Sunday. I loved her to death. It’s so sad that she died. D: Why do all the nice people die so early?

  21. Elkian says:

Especially should one bite straight into the ginger…

  22. BrainpanSonata says:

Three words: molasses crinkle cookies. Freaking LOVE them.
