#920 – Hollow

This comic makes me think of avocados. There are many fruits and vegetables that turn out to be something different than what I thought I was buying. I open them up when I get home and find nothing but disappointment or horror. Avocados seem to be the worst though. They are expensive enough that I only buy the exact number I need and when they turn out to be bad the whole meal is put on hold. I only use them for things where they are an essential ingredient.

What happened to Biffs Invisible green Car? Did Insurance take it away for that Library incident?

  2. Big fan of too many webcomics says:

Well duh. he forgot where he parked it.

  3. Thunderstorm101 says:

I can’t say that’s ever happened for me with avocados, because we love them so much at my house that we just buy them, and put them in sandwiches or on crackers. They are an essential ingredient to burritos, salads, and dips.

I have a friend with an avocado tree – I really have to get him to share.

  4. Mophtran says:

I’m not a huge fan of avocados, but for some reason, when it’s in sushi, I get past that. Maybe it’s just because I love sushi so ducking much. 😀

  5. Micah says:

There was a Malcolm in the Middle episode where Lois had the engine removed of this really nice car, so Malcolm and Reese got the car rolling down hill to this party and hung out in their hollowed out car at the party. When the cops showed up to bust them, they were stuck.

  6. Argh, not again! Damn thee Hill Folk! Does your treachery know no end?

  7. Hershey says:

Well, atleast he has some tunes.

  8. Ziriath says:

At least it has brakes….Wait, what happened to his Pontiac and green invisible car?

  9. ZeoViolet says:

Maybe Biff bought the car for spare parts and ended up not getting any….

I hate avacados. Have ever since second grade when I bravely tried one in class and my taste buds only registered a mouthful of slime. Yuck!

They certainly go into nothing I cook!

  10. baughbe says:

Hey wait, they stole the engine, but left the radio?

  11. Amy says:

I live on a hill. In the winter, the car may or may not want to go into “Drive,” but it always like “Reverse.” So I’ll back out of the driveway no problem, coast down to the stopsign at the bottom of the hill, then roll out into the street before realizing the car’s not going to move on its own. Nothin’ like a panic attack to wake you up in the mornin’.

  12. MaskedMan says:

Avacado. I’m the only one in my immediate family whom enjoys it. So, sadly, I get little of it, at all.

  13. Dr3w says:

I’ll eat Avacado in sushi. Not much of a fan outside of that (and even then, I’d prefer my sushi without). And if Biff lives in the redneck part of the south, he’s set… I know about five different people who have handfulls of engines just… sitting around collecting dust.

  14. -2! says:

… I think Biff might be the man on the hill.

  15. Chris says:

@-2! – Ooooh, conspiracy. Maybe Biff has multiple personalities.

  16. Tim says:

Dudes, the radio is there to make ENGINE noises…it’s on the tape. Just listen to it…

  17. xarexerax says:

Picking avocados can be tough. I like ’em enough that I’ve gotten pretty good at searching out worthwhile ones, but too often there simply are no good ones to pick from at the store. Cue conspiracy theories here.

  18. Random says:

I wish that this happen in real life, and I got to witness it. That would be the ultimate prank.

  19. G is for Music says:

Hollowbodies always have that sweet sound you can’t get with any other solid body car.

  20. Jesso says:

I looooooove avocados, and I’ve gotten really good at picking them. From time to time I’ll catch them on sale 3/$1 at the store and I’ll buy a whole bag and stick them in my fridge. They last a long time that way, and I can feast on avocados as much as I want.

Mmmmmm, I have some in my fridge right now, now that I think of it.

  21. Kasain says:

well, if you’re going to use avocados right away, then you should get the ones that are a medium color on the outside (you should be able to see that some are really dark and some are comparatively light) but if you’re going to use them in a couple days, get the light colored ones, the darker ones are riper and the most likely to have spots or be rotten all together 🙁 and the medium colored ones will have ripened after a few days (they ripen REALLY quickly and unfortunately go rotten on you just when you want to actually eat them) and i think i’d like a tape of engine noises for my car.. or a cd actually ^^’ i don’t have a tape player >_<

  22. AdmiralChaos says:

i have yet to witness that, but i think that’s going to have to be one of the pranks i pull in my lifetime… maybe take out someones engine and when they walk outside, a new car is sitting in their driveway with the old engine beside it.

  23. Chris says:

@AdmiralChaos – Hopefully there will be a limited number of Biff comics that people recreate in real life.

  24. Wittyfish says:

How does he [the seller] get it up the hill?

  25. LOL, its the same with electric cars, they make no noise so for safety reasons people want to put a car sound in them…

  26. BrainpanSonata says:

I love avocados but the last time I cut one up to have some salted avocado slices, I got about a quarter of it on my hands.

  27. Marscaleb says:

A bad avocado? I have never heard of such a thing.
