#898 – Corrosion

Chapter: Comics
In grade school we did some experiments where we soaked pennies and rusty nails in soda. We would check on them each day and take notes on what we saw. The activity was designed to deter us from drinking soda, but the results were shiny pennies and cleaned up nails. It made me want to drink more soda to clean the gunk off of my teeth.
Order your Biff Xmas cards now so you have plenty of time to send them out to all your cool friends and family members.

Apparently, Biff has Charybdis living in his floor.
No, he’s a really good wallpainter. Very vividly.
It looks like Biff’s been feeding the Gungerlock steroids.. Will it not fit in the F-J file anymore?
@Shorty
Which is why he was reinforcing his leg bones with calcium yesterday.
He doesn’t bleed? Or have the teeth broken from all the extra calcium he put in his legs?
Sounds like an interesting lab, amusing that they never thought of kids reacting from how pretty and shiny the pennies are! lol
Hope that’s the ‘fast rotting’ formula, for Biff’s sake.
I remember remarking to one of my teachers once that I didn’t understand why go through all the trouble with candy and such when kids might as well just grab a spoon and head for the sugar bowl. Fortunately, he just laughed.
I quit drinking soda for health reasons about a year and a half ago and could count the number on one hand the times I’d had it since–usually when I met up with my mom and we went out to eat somewhere. Back in April we went to this restaraunt that had terrible food and worse service, and the soda was awful. It had been a few months since I’d last drank it at that point, and I realized I didn’t miss it any longer–I used to be a huuuuge soda freak. I had another one a few days later and it was alright–just the restaraunt’s was bad–but overall I realized I just didn’t like soda anymore.
And now I realize what Biff was doing this week. Exercising till he drops? Pouring milk into his body to strengthen it? Arming himself with teeth-rotting soda?
He was preparing to wage battle with the giant teeth infesting his floor.
health week, great..
but this last one certainly got a giggle out of me
I guess Luke could have used soda to escape the Sarlacc…waaay easier
Waaa! What’s it!!
I dont drink sweet sodas, cos they are too much sweet and unhealthy… Beer is in our country (CZ) cheapier , and not harmful to my teeth.
@Ziriath: Yes, but beer does do quite a number on your liver.
0,5l once a month, that’s OK, I think..
Ok this comic kinda freaked me out a bit. Funny, but still freaky.
@Lunakrypt – Just always carry a bottle of Sparkle Pop wit you and you’ll be fine.
I think it’s drink week.
I think he doesn’t bleed ‘cos he has no blood.
@Ziriath – He sold all his blood to make home repairs.
We’re gonna need a bigger bottle of soda…
Wow…. that must REALLY hurt.
PAIN! Acid might work better.
@ZeoViolet
Kudos on your soda fasting 😀
I remembered going about a year without soda before I got myself back into them, temptation broken because some dang store provided about the best soda one could ask for, and I was parched D:
Also, penny and nail? Really? Throw in a chicken bone THEN the children will be scarred for life <.<
Biff’s got a bloody Sarlacc pit in his living room!
…I want one.
Am I the only one who thinks they look like teeth on the cover of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
This was the biggest “what the hell” moment this comic ever gave me.
Interesting. The cookies and milk thing. Real Biff eats artificial cookies, and serves (or stores) real milk in an artificial leg. Meanwhile, I don’t seem to have a clue how this might be part of a theme involving powdered Biff and a *very* casual approach to defense mechanisms.
“Corrosion.” Interestingly illustrated. From Mac’s Oxford American:
“from Latin corrodere ‘gnaw through’ (see corrode ).”
On second thought: Perfectly… Beautifully… Hillariously illustrated! But the milk and cookies thing is still best described as interesting.
I did say I had a thing for words.
At school, we were shown how to cheaply clean grease off of battery terminals – soft drink. It also melts a piece of raw liver, cleans coins, and reacts pretty awesomely with bicarb soda (my idea).
I usually don’t end up buying much in the way of soft drink – my family would drink it before I knew what was going on.
Biff, you might have better luck beating on the teeth with the bottle. Something’s gonna break sooner or latter….and nothihng likes chewing on broken glass
@Libraman
I’d tried on and off for the previous three or four years to quit drinking soda; it would work for a while but it never stuck.
This time it finally did. If almost ANYONE wants to lose five pounds without any effort, give up soda for a few months! See what happens.
At work I drink the Light lemonade. The first few months after I gave up soda, I had the worst headaches imaginable before that stopped haunting me so much. It wasn’t easy. My body yearned for caffiene and the only way it gets it from time to time now is that other food I wasn’t able to give up entirely–chocolate (small amounts ppl)–or Excedrin if I do get a headache.
Actually, I think that monster is inspired by that giant tunneling worm from the Tremor movies.
It’s a Salaac! (probably spelled that wrong)
It could be worse. He could be a foot farther down…
coke has a pH of 2. If you want to try a fun little experiment, put a baby tooth in s glass of soda. It will completely dissolve in less than a week.
Now think about what you’re doing to your bones…
Only one more year’s worth of comics until I catch up to present-day Biff! Oh yes.
The blurb made me laugh out loud.
