#866 – Shift

I remember driving to the mall after work one day and right as I got onto the onramp for the highway I remembered I forgot to set the VCR for one of my favorite shows that was about to start in 20 minutes. It took me about 19 minutes to loop back around and race up the stairs into the apartment to get it set up. A week later I bought my first TiVo. Soon after that I was supplying friends and co-workers with tapes of shows they missed.

Ah, if only such technology is feasible to create.

  2. Bookwyrm87 says:

I would give ANYTHING to obtain that technology. Why can’t they make it? AGH!

It would appear that Biff’s eyebrows relax when he sleeps — does it require mental effort to keep them aloft? Or perhaps, he’s having a nightmare in which his eyebrows are limp!

  4. Three of Nineteen says:

Or a nightmare where he had them cut off! That’d make those critters go limp.

I want one. >__< A nightmare skip remote could be useful!

  6. Solace says:

I get my dreams and nightmares mixed up. I once had a dream about ponies and rainbows…I couldn’t sleep for days after that one.

    1. extremist343 says:

I pretty certain that constitutes a truly terrifying nightmare. So I’m not surprised that you had trouble sleeping after that one.

Biff’s eyebrows function as antenna for irony and weirdness and after a day picking up a nonstop onslaught of that, they deserve a little down time. Or at least that’s what they do in my headspace. Might be different in yours.

Tivo, in an age filled with so much worthless and tossable tech, it stands alone as one of the few real life changers of the 21st century. You can never go back…

but you can be forced by your stupid satelite network into buying lousy company brand DVR! I miss my “beedoops!’

Ah…I’m glad that the Super Sentai shows (which were the basis for Power Rangers) are being released onto DVD. I watch them on my computer since they are Region 2. As for DVROnDemand and all other technology, I’m actually surprised how my life has changed since it was introduced into my life. Now I can watch TV whenever I feel like it.

A dream player would be more desireable.
It would be like having a Holodeck in your bedroom.
    And visea-versa.

    Ahh, technology week.

You sure it’s technology week? Well, maybe it is…I mean look at this! I’m going to post this one more time after this. I just want to make sure everyone has seen it: http://mattboy115.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=7166246

  13. Matt Lee says:

By the way Chris himslef commented on one of those Biff pics and said one word: “Crazy.” It’s an honor to have him say that. Even though I only spent an hour on it.

    KA-SHAMELESS ADVERTISING!

  15. Matt Lee says:

    I know! I’m horrible!

  16. Ziggy Stardust says:

Most of my dreams are rather unremarkable, at least the ones I remember. I have nightmares a lot, they are not really worth recording.

  17. AdmiralChaos says:

I think it would not be appropriate to mention what my dreams are about.

But what I would do to be able to record them…

  18. Matt Lee says:

My dreams often contain pain and suffering and disembowelment so I’d rather not share mine.

  19. BrainpanSonata says:

I like how he’s used rubber bands to keep the remote from falling out of his hand while he sleeps.
