#820 – Combo

When I was a kid there was a Reese’s peanut butter cup commercial that took place in a movie theater. A scary thing happened in the movie and a guy in the balcony dropped his chocolate bar. It landed in the open jar of peanut butter that a girl was eating out of. Even as a kid I thought “Who the heck brings a jar of peanut butter to eat at a movie?” And you know she brought it with her because the ones they sell at the theater are over $50.

  2. reynard61 says:

I once got my hot chocolate in my sister’s Spaghetti-Os®, but those two great tastes did *not* go together…

  3. Drakey says:

    That’s “whittling”

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that all this week’s comics are named after snack foods.

  4. Greyryder says:

I remember having a similar reaction to that commercial.

  5. MaskedMan says:

I also hated that commercial – I had fantasies of taking a rotten egg to the theater and dropping in that girl’s peanut butter.
But then, I’m kinda insane like that. 😀

Biff forgot to use the steel-cored climbing rope.

  6. ZeoViolet says:

What can I say for Biff besides, “OOPS!”

  7. -2! says:

I thought he was hanging by his eyebrows at first.

Also I guess I am to young to know about that commercial.

  8. Ziggy Stardust says:

“You got chocolate in my peanut butter!”
“You got peanut butter in my chocolate!”
“And together, they both taste like crap.”
I do not even know what episode of News Radio that that is from, but it’s the hilarious episode. That is to say, all of them. <3 News Radio!

I must have read this one wrong. I thought he was doing a great job of combining chuteless base jumping with mallard peeling. Ah, I miss the good old days when you could chutelessly base jump all day long, peeling mallard after mallard and no one would say Boo to you. These days it’s all “stop all that mallard peeling, you git” and “hey, stop that jumping off my base, you and your conspicuous lack of a parachute, you!” and other less savory comments.

Wait, he’s NOT hanging by his eyebrows?

  11. Niha says:

Do USA theaters sell peanut butter jars?

  12. Wizard says:

Sure, and they’re the size of oil drums!

  13. MaskedMan says:

Not only the size of oil drums, but made with processed baby penguins!

  14. Boilman says:

Anyone willing to explain this so-called commercial to a non-American?

  15. TaintedRose says:

“hello, i’m officer Reese, what’s happened here?”
“he got peanut butter on my chocolate!”
“he got chocolate in my peanut butter!”
    *bang**bang*
lol, couldnt find the clip on youtube, ahh well, you should know it anyway 😛

  16. Radical Edward says:

TaintedRose: Yeah I’ve seen that Family Guy one.

As for me, I don’t remember certain commercials unless they’ve use music from popular bands.

As for combos, I remember eating Ruffles potato chips with Hershey’s chocolate bars and they tasted good.

  17. Linzleh says:

Reese’s commercials…the best were the ones with the 2 perfect holes a la vampires, that sucked out the pnut butter filling. And Biff’s reason for carving a wooden duck while rappelling? Biffism with an Alps/Black Forest or Heidi influence….

  18. baughbe says:

    Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup and V8.
Actually a combo I really drank, 50% concentrated Lemon Juice, 50% Tonic Water

  19. gelugon2105 says:

This one is very, very amusing!

I want to buy your books! Do you market them in Southeast Asia?

  20. ThatSomethingGuy says:

Concentrated lemon juice with tonic water baughbe!? My tongue just about goes on strike THINKING about that!

  21. Dzelda says:

I tell you what goes good surpisingly- Tofu and frying it in golden breading. Youd be amazed at how it goes from tasting horrible to tasting above average for tofu. XD

  22. Biligum says:

    HIS EYEBROWS SHALL SAVE HIM!

  23. Marscaleb says:

“Because the ones they sell at the theater are over $50”
That made em laugh out loud.
