#756 – Convection

Unless it’s the middle of summer, taking a shower is usually accompanied by two shocking temperature changes. First when you pull back the curtain and step out of the shower and second when you open the bathroom door and step into the hallway. It would be great if there were a clothes dryer in the bathroom and I timed my shower to end when the clothes were ready. A nice toasty layer of clothing to protect me from what was on the other side of the door.

    Twin-wielded air-movers week?

If that’s the case, we *may* see something involving two snow-blowers.

This week’s theme: Monday sucks, Tuesday blows, Wednesday…

  7. Speakerblast says:

Haha, sometimes I deliberately crank up my shower so the bathroom will be warm when I get out.

  8. A-Code says:

I know another temperatureshock: a cold bed. Always uncomfy in the beginning, but once i’ts morning again it’s too comfy to get out.

Anyways, I think I’ll follow Aurion: Dualwielding Appliances.

  9. Drew says:

I’m guessing air pressure week, just to be different.

  10. A says:

Heating socks on hair-driers is something I am going to have to try now…

    Static discharge/fabric-fires ahoy!

  11. Linzleh says:

@reynard61: You are so clever! I’m also leaning towards double the fun with appliances…

  12. William Syler says:

I actually enjoy the temperature shock that occurs when i leave the bathroom. I usually go out of the bathroom prematurely just to feel that cold air against my hot body. I must be a freak.

It’s the return of the pink stripey socks!

Biff san, Master of the Sock, will now show us legendary technique, Roaring Hot Sock! XD

That Biff cracks me up he does.

  15. Chris says:

Now I want to see a sequence in a martial arts film where these are used as weapons. Perhaps against some sort of snow demons.

  16. Reaper says:

Dual wielding appliances. This is going to be great.

  17. Rasheed says:

Weren’t these used as weapons in those kid ninja movies?

I’ve done the sock-over-the-hair-dryer bit for decades. My junior orchestramates were impressed on our Colorado trip.

  18. Fishy says:

I first turn up the heating in my bathroom, then I take a shower while the heating heats up the bathroom and my clothes!

  19. Julie says:

I’m going with movie images week. Yesterday – Back to the Future, today – Wolverine.

  20. Sman says:

We had an addition and remodel done on our house a couple years back, we added a new master bathroom and took the existing master bath/hall bath space and changed it into a larger hall bath for our kids together with an indoor laundry and a half bath that also opens out onto our patio/pool.

The best part is that our master bath has a shower that has two shower heads, two walls are granite floor to ceiling, the ceiling is granite, and two walls are glass floor to ceiling (glass door also). It steams up nicely in there. The shower is five feet by five and a half feet. I can stretch out!!!!

Together with this, we had them put in the heated floors under the tiles. Oh my god, what heaven…in the middle of winter…to wake up when it’s so cold out and go in barefoot to a toasty warm floor…oooohhhhh…….

Now we just need to add the towel warmer bars!

    IT’S SYMMETRY WEEK.

  23. -2! says:

I still say for the rest of the week this theme should become negative and add an exclamation point. (assuming it is 2 week, because this is pretty unsymmetrical in my opinion)

  24. MadDavid says:

@ Chris: In one of the “Naked Gun” movies, there was a struggle over a hair dryer.

  25. -2! says:

It just occurred to me, Biff has 2 hair dryers and no hair (well i guess the eyebrows. He must have bought the hair dyers specifically for this process.

And about the shower temperature changes for me it does not happen, in the morning i can only take temperatures up to slightly lower then a comfortable temperature before it gets to hot so in the water is either to hot, to cold or both any other time of day my minimum comfortable temperature is unusually low (so is my upper one (even for a Canadian)) so its normally the colder outside the shower.

  26. reynard61 says:

    @ Linzleh: Thanks!

  27. Ziggy Stardust says:

I don’t generally have this problem, since we do not turn our air conditioning typically. Our house is about as warm as bathroom air after a shower which is really very welcoming. I would take cold showers but I despise them.

  28. Crimson1regret says:

I gotta side with Dual wielding appliances week!

Or, maby “Unusual uses for usual household items” week.

  29. Drakey says:

When I lived in a farmhouse, we had a bathroom that was also a laundry room. It. Was. Awesome!

  30. mizzie says:

When I was a kid, my mom would throw a towel in the dryer while I showered. When I was almost done, I’d bang on the wall (the living room was on the other side) and she’d get the towel out and bring it to me in the bathroom. Ahhhh… warm towel! It was wonderful! I wonder if I can convince my husband to start doing that for me. lol (yes, I was spoiled, why do you ask? ^_~)

  31. Kyle says:

Good job with the pants, or the lack there for of and the decorative towel.

  32. brent says:

i throw down my dirty shirt on the floor and step on it to avoin foot to floor temp shock
