#738 – Cannonball

I always had fun taking a bath when I was a kid. I had lots of toys to play with and would stay in there as long as my mom would let me. I liked making waves in the tub and it was fun seeing the little plastic boats get tossed around but occasionally a wave would crest over the side. Then it was a race to see if I could soak up the flood before one of my parents happened to check on me. Somehow nobody questioned when all the towels on the rack were wet.

Trust me, Chris, all parents know that when you combine a kid and a bathtub, you get a wave machine.

  2. Polymorph says:

Hmm… I’m curious to see what his parents would look like after seeing Biff as a child.

The sale. I keep forgetting. I need to check my bank balance.

  4. Izual Shima says:

Aw, he actually looks a bit daunted by the prospect of jumping.

Also, a bathroom with a wooden roof? Heck of a humidity problem, man.

Last but not least…Biff the Younger has no nipples?! On checking the archive, adult Biff has nipples in all instances I can find.

I guess the Homo Sapiens Biffus grows nipples later in life? Oh, the mysteries of nature.

@Kurast: I’m marshalling a legion behind me pal. All I want, is to sate my curiosity…is your nickname from Diablo 2, or somewhere else? If the latter, where from? I kindly thank you for your (eventual) attention.

I could never get used to baths as a kid. I’ve always had a vivid imagination, so while I would have fun when the entire top was covered in bubbles, the moment I could see under the surface, I actually started thinking something was gonna come out of the drain and attack me.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved hot-tubs; I still do, and I can stay in one for hours, just watching my body prune up in the wonderfully warm water. But whenever I was given a bath, it was usually by myself, with my parents in the other side of the house, with no music or outside noises to occupy my mind, and even to this day, my mind simply CANNOT deal with silence, so as a fidgety kid, I was pretty much paranoid of staying in the water after around 5-10 minutes.

  6. Sirhc says:

    Hmm, it’s a minibiff.

I probably had the smallest, shallowest bath around, so I even almost broke my legs jumping in from the side.

  7. Otter says:

has anyone noticed that the head is a normal biff sized head weird

  8. -JAD- says:

You should make a derived series with this boy.

  9. DTanza says:

Such a small body but a big head.

  10. Caity says:

It’s funny, when I was a kid I never had any bath toys or rubber duckies or anything like that, but about two years ago one of my close friends and I went to a charity rubber duck race and he gave me one of the ducks from the race. Now I put it in the tub every time I take a bath. I don’t know, the aimless, carefree floating of the ducky helps me relax.

  11. Kya says:

his parents sure are crazy to let him use a handsaw as a child.

  12. clintendo says:

is biff supposed to be 3 year old biff this week due to the whole “biff is 3 years old now” thing?

  13. -2! says:

nice to see some people agree about his head…

Looks like a alien this time around

    @ Izual Shima

Having a gravitar just might help you get Kurast to read your comment… Also me having one i have decided to help you in your quest today (we just need to get Chris to post it in the main body)

Kurast as per Izual Shima, where is your dispay name from?

  14. Chris says:

Guys, seriously. This is the internet, do a google search for Kurast and decide if it’s really a mystery where his name came from.

  15. Reg says:

Well, Chris actually has it easy this week. All he has to do is take Biff’s photo album and post the pictures up with captions underneath.
And yes, bath time is always fun time when you’re a kid – Biff just makes it more fun.

  16. -2! says:

    @ Chris, a) i don’t actualy care… it just his determanation….

Also googling Kurast brings up Diablo 2 which is where Izual Shima is specifically asking if it came from

    so googling dosn’t help

(mainly i want to get Izual Shima to stop with that message :))

  17. Chris says:

-2!, when the first six-hundred-and-fifty-seven-million hits in google are for Diablo 2 then it’s hardly a mystery.

  18. Rated R for Redonk says:

Goooooo MiniBiff! His head is a perfect oval, interestingly enough.

  19. Sir Sniper says:

Well, it took me a week, but I’m completely caught up on Biff. He is one unlucky guy. It’s all hilarious. And I gotta say, Little Biff is pretty cute.

  20. Izual Shima says:

    @ “-2!” and “Guru Sweet Pickle” :

    Thanks for your support.
-2!, you have the basic idea down right. I’ve been aware of the Diablo 2 supposed origins since the game came out.

I chose the name for a starring fictional character. To me, naming and research are key to my creative endeavors. I’m not entirely pleased with picking the name from somewhere else, but I might as well do as best I can from it. Plus, all manners of interesting learning tend to come from such research.

    @ Chris:
The internet is not all-knowing, especially when it comes to information that is not part of popular and/or modern culture.

Actually, when something figures prominently in such areas of culture, but is also present in others (as most fiction uses culture as a source of inspiration)… The former effectively obstructs the finding of the latter.
Mostly ‘cos on the internet, popularity and commonality dictate ease of finding.

Sure, by now I recognise the likelihood of “Kurast” having any actual origins preceeding Diablo 2, is slim at best.

I just still feel like it’s worth trying. Not just ‘cos I can be stubborn. But also ‘cos I don’t quite believe in coincidences. Running into Kurast’s comments here right on the time I chose to name a significant character in an ongoing creative process…

Also considering this is the only place online that I’ spoken at with any regularity in the last year or so, and that I don’t touch gaming stuff in years…
    Just makes the “coincidence” stronger.

When these things happen to me, I like to hang onto them, explore the possibilities.

Sorry if I’m annoying people with it. I figured a few people would find it funny and/or interesting, and the rest wouldn’t care and would just skip over my comments. I politely suggest just ignoring me to anyone that might find this annoying.

  21. -2! says:

    @ Izual Shima

    wait, you named Kraust?

  22. -2! says:

    @ Chris

Okay my google fails, i got 7 results…

  23. Izual Shima says:

    @-2!

Huh? No…maybe I expressed myself wrong at some point?

What I tried to say was, “Kurast” is the name for the fictional character in the creative process I mentioned

  24. Mach135 says:

    DEUS EX MACHINA!!!

    @Izual Shima, -2!, Chris

1st thing that popped up on “origins of kurast” google search http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Kurast

another quick search shows that Kehjistan not only plays a role in Diablo, but other video games as well and will be prominent in diablo iii .http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Kehjistan

    Hope that helps!

  25. lulululu says:

I used to enjoy baths, but now I’m a teen and my parents took all my bath toys away it’s no fun any more.

Did anyone notice that Kurast didn’t actually post this week?

  26. DaemonThanatos says:

hehehe…i remember those days…there’d be no water in the tub, i’d be perfectly dry (and still covered in mud)…and the rest of the bathroom was soaked. Bath-time was fun back then.
