#704 – Reach

Sometimes when I have an itch I can go into a meditative state and will the itch into oblivion. Then there are other times where I’m driving on the highway… and it is snowing… and I have an itch right in that most annoying spot on my back… and I’m wearing gloves… and a thick winter jacket… ugh it’s kind of driving me nuts right now just thinking about it.

Worst thing I’ve ever had was an itch on my foot… while waring skiing boots. But Biff is just waaaay cool again! *wooot*

  2. Now THAT’s Biff’s kind of back scratcher! The dangerous kind.
How do those blades turn when there are no axles on them? For that matter, how are they being held up?

    1. extremist343 says:

      The axels are invisible.

  3. TomTom says:

luckily, I happen to be double-jointed and therefore have no need for any back scratching devices.

  4. Mike Chapman says:

Okay, this has to be Biff taking everyday circumstances and making them very dangerous week, right?

  5. Kbman says:

    Overkill:
It doesn’t count when you attack yourself.

  6. Kuchehexe says:

I use an old stray dinner table fork. It’s usually just the right length, and the tongs are just the right amount of decently sharp to make the itch go away. Conventional wooden back scratchers feel too dull and I have to push them to the point of feeling like they’re bruising me to maybe make the itch stop.

  7. Micah says:

    Well…there goes my theory.

  8. Heinrich says:

    @ kbman: lol 🙂

i think this is another confirmation for anyone who has said that biff is super human (like cyborg or something). i like his style, though.

oh n @garrett williams: magnets. has to be.

  9. Skydiver Todd says:

Tut, tut, tut, people! When did you last visit the movies? Samurai? Cyclops? A sloth while he wears King Arthur crown? The Magic Mirror? Now the slinging blades of death?

    Let’s see…
    Monday….Any old Samurai movie
    Tuesday…Ray Harryhausen flick
    Wednesday…maybe Alice in Wonderland?
Thursday…Snow White (just what was she doing shacked up with seven short guys, hmmm????)
Today…Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Remember, the dog was named Indiana.

  10. SEA says:

There is nothing called overkill. 😀

I am glad i have my backscratcher with me :p

  11. Linzleh says:

More circles…Interesting ?theme this week. Hope Biff doesn’t get an itch. The red shirt is amusing.

  12. Sorry Chris but at this point i think SSI Shredder Youtube video’s are obligitory to point out after a post like this!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aja7gcgRMJU

I’m in love with this machine 😀

  13. Chris says:

@Skydiver Todd – You got one out of five!

  14. Silversaraph says:

    Uh… one-thing-led-to-another week?

  15. carrie says:

Thursdays has to be snow white, is wednesday Se7en? …. And thats all I got 🙁 And are these Amanda movies??? (since it was her b-day!)

  16. Chris says:

@carrie – That’s 2 out of 5 but no these aren’t Amanda movies. They have another connection.

  17. Genesismonk says:

BIFF! TURN AROUND, THEN PRESS BUTTON!

  18. Rasheed says:

it’s not the worst feeling, but the hardest to remedy in public when your undies are chafing at the taint and you can’t scratch without scaring the other people in the elevator.

  19. AFriendOfMine says:

    Mon Samurai
    Tue Sinbad
Wed Deadly Sins (Se7en, Go Carrie!)
Thur Snow White (..and the Seven Dwarfs, Go Skydiver!)
Fri Saw..wait what? Oh, Itch. Well played Sir.

  20. Rasheed says:

    So the theme is seven?
Seven Samurai, 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Seven (Se7en) Deadly Sins, Seven Dwarves, and the Seven Year Itch?

  21. Chris says:

@Rasheed – Gold Star for the complete answer!

  22. A.L. says:

I get itches in all sorts of places and I am not nearly as flexible as I should be to pull it off.It actually looks quite comical when I am trying to get those itches if not painful.

  23. Akaroshii says:

You have some very obscure themes, my good man. xD

  24. -2! says:

Now you just need to use -2 as a theme!

Awesome comic… how did you know about my back scratcher… are you stalking me?

  25. alecho says:

ooooh! nice! I needed one just right now… ouch! 😉

  26. Kevin says:

    Now my foot itches.

Great comic, each one makes me smile or laugh out loud.

  27. ben says:

my wife has an automatic back-scratcher. it’s called “me”.
apparently, the typical wooden variety just won’t do.

  28. Kurast says:

Seven, the magic number. Nice job, Rasheed

  29. no name says:

Hahahaha. Bravo, Chris, definitely one of your best comics. I think.

  30. Heinrich says:

    oh hey – magic number 7 – these are comics 700 – 704. coincidence?

  31. -2! says:

    @ Heinrich

    Good point…

That means for my -2 theme i have to wait until Comics -200 though comic -196… This could be a while… Somewhat twice infinity.

Dammit Chris is good at hiding little things in the comic, things that I would never notice…

Then again I am blind to details.

  32. Reg says:

Will there be any Biff left next week? And I never would have guessed the week’s theme to be movies with “seven” in their title; hence entering the 700s. Thank goodness for the smart people who comment!

  33. Rasheed says:

I cheerfully pass my goldstar to AFriendOfMine, I believe his answer was sufficient right before mine. But this week I’ll be sure to get a jump on it 🙂

  34. On the Money says:

He he … Particularly like this one!

    😎

  35. August says:

I had an unscratchable itch in Fencing today. Lemme tell ya, it’s quite hard to scratch through a glove and jacket with a hand that’s holding an epee.

  36. Deteramot says:

I have enough flexibility so that there is no point on my back which I cannot reach. I laugh at all you normal people and your mundane flexibility. And my sister, who can lick her elbow, a feat normally thought impossible, laughs at all of us.

  37. Jess says:

Ah yes, the gift of the double-jointed shoulders…I can scratch my back AND apply sunscreen to my back. Though I suppose Biff’s method works too.

  38. Robert says:

Well if you lean VERY carefully… Or if your name is David Copperfield that might work.
But i see where he’s coming from. You never seem to find a strong enough backscratcher

  39. DaemonThanatos says:

You and me both, TomTom…hehe…it creeps my sister out when I scratch my own back…and also makes her insanely jealous. >:3
