#671 – Choices

It’s hard to find something when you are looking in the wrong area. I lost my iPod shuffle and the last place I remembered having it was at work and the headphones were still sitting on my desk. I searched through my cubicle a few times. I searched my car. I looked in the parking lot around where I usually park. Eventually I gave up. A few months went by and I got a new shuffle for my birthday. A week later I found the original one here… right in front of me where I draw the comic each day. It was expertly camouflaged under an envelope.

    nice one chris XD

  2. Chris says:

That’s awesome. Seems as though you got two shuffles now

  3. Fafnir13 says:

I’m just worried about where those darts are landing…

  4. BlueKitsune says:

“I am going…*tosses the dart* THERE!! … Now where did that dart land so I know where there is?”

I just had to do that XD

I lost my watch recently. Turns out I left it in mum’s car. We had family staying, and I got relegated to the back seat – since I’m hardly ever in the car at all, let alone in the back, I didn’t think to look there for months. I was so very close to replacing that watch, too.

  6. Pieman says:

My life is based off those kind of events. I have two of a lot of things.

  7. stonehydra says:

i would have gone with intelligent rather than extraterrestrial but hay, that’s gust me.

  8. Kurast says:

It’s hard for Biff to find intelligent things.

  9. Heinrich says:

i dunno… i think biff is pretty smart, but he doesn’t have much (if any) common sense.

  10. Trillion says:

To be fair, those shuffles are sneaky little guys!! Mine frequently relocates itself

  11. Grug says:

    Alien Week! Booyah!

  12. Kit-Kun says:

I hate that! You can’t find something you’re looking for until you stop. And it’s staring you in the face! You lay down after two weeks without it, look around as a commercil starts and think ‘It was on the night stand?’

  13. carrie says:

I would loose my watch alot. It gives two little beats at each hour, so everytime a new hour would approach, I would pick a different room in the house to stand and wait to see if I could hear the beeps. I would spend more time looking for it than wearing it. Now I keep the alarm set so when I loose it, I only have to wait til 12:00pm and then wander around the house until I hear it.

  14. @Kit-Kun: No, even after you stop, you won’t find it. The only time you’ll find what you’re looking for is after you’ve replaced it.

one snowy day i lost a zip drive that i needed for my job. i scoured my house over, and over, and over again.
a week later, i was taking out the trash after the snow thaw, and found it on the ground! it had fallen, and got buried under 5 inches of snow.

  16. teh n00b says:

i also have a similar problem when i’m using legos. i can search an hour for 1 peice, give up, look for another piece, and find about 6 of the first peice i was looking for. πŸ˜›

  17. MaskedMan says:

Whenever I look for something, I always find it in the last place I look. Why is that, I wonder..? πŸ˜€

When Biff tosses that dart, does it casue the star it hits to go supernova, or to simply go out like a blown bulb? <.<

  18. Wizard says:

Kurast – Maintaining a safe distance from Biff is a sure sign of intelligence.

  19. William Syler says:

    @MaskedMan
It would probably go out like a lightbulb, knowing Biff’s luck

  20. Anne says:

    Biff looking up week?

  21. Zaffa says:

    Alien Week. Definitely.

  22. DBraeges says:

You know, that IS kinda what SETI does…

  23. no name says:

Aww that sucks, Chris. Are you going to return the new one?

  24. Abby says:

You should make the “Nominated for the 2008 Web Comic award” thing slightly bigger–Biff is totally better than xkcd.

  25. Grug says:

Wait…….. OH. MY. GOD. Where are Biff’s eyebrows!? This is a socking development, as the image implies that the are not physical objects but emanations projected constantly from his eyes. If you cover them, the brows do not exist!

  26. Akaroshii says:

I guess point and click doesn’t ALWAYS work.

  27. -JAD- says:

iPod shuffles are the best ones!

Congratulations, happy 2009 and keep on.

  28. no name says:

aw the book of biff is only in like 3rd to last place.

  29. PsychoDuck says:

Uh… Why has the caption changed to “REPLACE”?

    The Duck Has Spoken.

  30. Linuxexorcist says:

yeah, did u change/fix the comic or something?, i lose my cell phone all the time, but my house is a dead zone so i can’t call it to find it, it’s always under some pillows or in a couch cusion or something…

  31. Chris says:

Awesome. I uploaded the wrong version of the comic twice! Luckily the version missing the caption was only up for about 20 minutes. The version without the eyebrows was up for almost 24 hours!

  32. Jykcor says:

Awesome, but since other people dont exist in Biffworld, except for Biff’s reflection πŸ™‚
… how is he going to meet any life, intelligent or not?

  33. i.half4 says:

Other people do exist in Biff’s world.

It is we who can only see them through The Book of Biff.

  34. Whenever I really lose something, and I mean *really* lose it, as in can’t find it for weeks, and I give up and buy a new one, I’ll come home and find the old one sitting on the table or my desk or somewhere extremely obvious…

  35. DemonChao says:

That happened to me but with halo 3

  36. Hornswaggler says:

XDD Murphy’s Law, right there. You can only find something you lose AFTER you replace it…My dad has a a technique of replacing the item, but making sure it’s returnable. XD He’ll just buy it, find whatever he lost, then return the new one.
