#668 – Solar

Chapter: Comics
My family thinks my popcorn is weird. They like the traditional butter and salt topping. My preferred version is butter, salt, lime juice, pepper and parmesan cheese. The best part is since nobody else likes it, once I mix up my batch I don’t have to worry about anyone snacking out of my bowl. What do you like on your popcorn?

Great Comic as always and happy new year!
Why doesn’t Biff use a solar panel? Those things get really hot, and they also use the sun!
Finally. I have ascended Mt. Boookofbiff!
Great comic, Sirrah.
Third comment of 2009 (as of writing). Happy New Year Everyone
Heh, I love how he’s doing each one individually. Though it would be much quicker if he aimed it directly into the cup. But hey, why do it the easy way when there’s a hard way.
On another note, I like salt, hot sauce, and banana peppers in my popcorn. Boy, is it good.
Ahh Biff, Happy New Year! Let’s hope 2009 brings lots more funny challenges for Biff to shake his cosmic problem-solving salt on…Yum, the flavor of humor, delightful. Popcorn & sea salt=Tasteeee
Oh man, I can’t say I agree with you on the pepper and the lime juice, but I love parmesan on my popcorn, I used to put it on all the time, but for some reason when I try to now, it doesn’t work out so well. I’m not sure what I used to do different, it was a long time ago.
I like the cheese popcorn that comes in those big Christmas Tins with the caramel and the buttered popcorn. But only the cheese. I’m not a fan of caramel corn in general, and I only like the buttered kind when it’s fresh.
Laborious Processes week. Definitely.
hahaha, a great way to start this year! btw, do people really burn ants with magnifying glass concentrated sun ray?
Happy new year, in your backward timezone. It’s been 2009 here in Australia for 19 hours and 44 minutes, at time of writing. I once saw someone fry a steak in a funny looking solar wok on TV in one of those alternate energy shows that comes on every now and again. Was a little slow, but the potential is there.
i use toppings that disgust all else…
butter. yes, butter. it’s the amount that people find excessive and disgusting!
happy new year, Biff and Chris!
only salt on mine, thanks.
Alecho, yes we indeed do. though leaves were just as amusing as a child.
Yay, first post on year ’09 (and number 14, but who cares about that).
I use myself some salt, little bit of butter and sometimes some dried wasabi. It tastes good (no, not going to tell you where you can get dried wasabi. Find it yourselves). And usually I get the ones that haven’t popped since nobody else wants to eat them.
Plain.
My sweetie (I can’t have popcorn any more–bad teeth, no dental) likes his almost exactly the way you like yours, except substitute garlic for the lime juice & pepper so it’s butter (real, thankee–life’s too short for margarine), salt, powdered garlic, and parmesan.
Your popcorn concoction actually sounds quite good, Chris XD I should try that sometime.
Usually just butter and salt, on occasion like cheese or something different.
But now I have to try that, dang.
Back in one of my (many) poor periods, we ate a lot of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Since you can get tired of that pretty quick, we made other stuff with the macaroni and saved all the powdered cheese packets.
That powdered cheese turned out to be awesome on popcorn.
(Also, we discovered that you can pop popcorn over a Sterno after the light company cuts your power)
well now thats not a lot of popcorn. i hope he has a duplicator somewhere in his house.
Me: (sheepishly normal)
Uhhhh… Butter, salt. And some place to wash my hands after.
I always found excessive amounts of butter on popcorn to be kind of gross…
Just salt and pepper is among my favorite popcorn toppings.
When I make popcorn my favorite way to spice it is to put garlic powder and sugar on it. Its funny though, I always try to share and get people to try but everyone refuses so I always end up getting the bag to myself.
Another way that is yummy and I forgot about until I posted is, when you go to the movies you buy a pack of the sugar daddies? the little caramel balls covered in chocolate, I cant remember the name and mix those in with your popcorn.
Gee, i can’t remember the last time i ate popcorn. ๐ฎ
Happy new year everyone. =D
I like soy sauce on my popcorn, when I do have it.
First-time commenter, long-time reader.
First off, great comic!
Secondly, I prefer Kettle Corn (greatest stuff ever, love the sweet taste mixed with salty) with butter, salt, and parmesan cheese.
I like my popcorn cooked in a big kettle with sugar and salt…maybe some cinnamon. The sugar caramelizes just a little bit, and it’s amazing. Especially when it’s still hot. Mmm.
I cut up little cubes a cheese and mix it into a bowl of warm kettle popcorn
Also, I like kettle corn, with a little bit of caramelized banana. Delicious.
@Michael
You think your time zone is backwards? I just avoided Y2K!
Looks like Biff survived it.
I fill up a brown paper bag with unpopped popcorn until you just can’t see the bottom, roll up the top and microwave that. Then I get some butter and some garlic salt and microwave that until the butter melts. Then all I do is splash on my butter into the bag and I’ve got my popcorn!
I think it’s great but nobody else does, so it’s win-win!
Happy ’09!
popcorn? butter, garlic salt, and parmesan cheese.
Happy new year!
I usually like to put butter, seasoned salt, powdered garlic and pepper on my popcorn.
Me and my partner like to melt peanut butter and butter in a bowl… then pour that over top and add either garilc powder or white cheddar flavoring. ๐
Butter.
Lots and Lots of butter
Rube Goldberg week? Doing things by proxy, or in a really unnecessarily elaborate way (I’ve been trying to think up a proper name for the theme all week =P)
Depending on my mood either, microwaved peanut butter; jalapeรฑos; or lots and lots of hot sauce.
Popcorn Nachos:
1)Pop popcorn and lay out on cookie sheet.
2)top with grated Cheddar
3)sprinkle with garlic powder and chili powder. Jalapenos for those so inclined
4)Bake @ 350 for 5-7 minutes
5)Enjoy
Doesn’t Biff have a microwave?
sugar or honey
Gotta go with Old Bay on popcorn. ๐
I like nutritional yeast on popcorn.
Seriously!
I like popcorn on my popcorn.
And I found it weird…….
I came from watching the shamwow commercial on youtube to here, which is where the page was bookmarked, and saw myself listening to a commercial about bounty paper towels. WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY????????? AAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!
Right now, I’m eating popcorn with butter, salt, and some bacon bits on it. I usually put a bit of parmesan cheese on it as well, but I’m out of cheese ๐
Nacho cheese sauce! Its awesomeness is unrivaled.
butter and Zatarain’s cajun seasoning is pretty good
@AdmiralMemo agreed, as a former Chesapeake resident, old bay fries and old bay chips are great as well to me.
Parmesan’s good on popcorn. I also usually add Greek Seasoning, great stuff that I use for a lot of my cooking.
i melt cheese over it and dip it in marinara sauce
raman noodle flavoring and and squid boulliun how ever you spell that
Kettle corn, all the way, FTW, boo-yah, fo’shizzle.
Tons of butter and salt, or slightly salted with LOTS of hot sauce…xDD It rules.
Ookay, I’m only a few months worth of Biffs away from catching up! 8D
I like mine with melted butter. REAL butter, none of that fake butter they try to pass off. I’m simple that way.
I like mine with melted peanut butter ๐ it’s gooey and delicious, just have lots of napkins near by.
I don’t usually eat popcorn unless I’m at the movie but when I’m there I’ll eat my popcorn with butter, salt, and any chocolate candy…cookie dough bites work especially well.
Melt sugar in saucepan to make caramel.
Add popcorn, toss it around until the caramel sets (careful: it’s like napalm).
Add rosemary, chili, salt.
any kind of mixed spices and cheese. lots of cheese!
I tend to enjoy maple syrup on my popcorn, usually with some extra sugar for good measure. Good thing is no-one else I know likes it.
He could just microwave it.
