#500 – Lift

Well here we are at Biff #500. That is a crazy number for me to look at. I feel like I’m just starting to figure out how to do this whole thing. I’m excited to see where Biff will take me on the way to #1000.

So a bunch of you asked for something special for #500. I did something a little extra for this comic. I’ll reveal it in two parts. Part one. Part two.

  2. Zeusandhera says:

Congratulations on 500 comics! One MPH per comic!

  3. Madness says:

500 comics! W00T! Time for the next 500, which will still be epic.

  4. LazerWulf says:

    Happy 500th!

P.S. You misspelled the link you posted. “Wallpaper” has 2 “L”s.

  5. Monkeyman says:

Congrats on 500 dude.Hehe good comic so far, what will part 2 bring!?

  6. Carpaccio says:

I’ve only just come across Biff a few weeks ago, but I’m extremely marveled at him. He reminds me of a French cartoon I watched some years ago about a spaceman’s misadventures.

    Congratulations on 500 comics, too!

  7. Chris says:

@LazerWulf – I know! I was just wondering why nobody was downloading any of them when I checked the link. 🙂

  8. BiggerJ says:

When I saw Part 1, the only concept for a follow-up I could think of was ‘just wait until you see the kite’.

  9. Victor says:

There is no 1920×1200 pic. I cant use these as wallpapers. =(

  10. insertnamehere says:

ok, for those that read my last post (previous comic), I was wrong. My idea was 500 Biffs all wandering around doing weird stuff, in the same panel. The one from this panel, #500, would be wondering where all the others came from. As for biff in this comic, is he rooted to the spot or frozen in place? I’m pretty sure I’d be dragged along long before my arms got like that. Then again, it is Biff. Biff is exempt from the laws of physics. (or any other, more correct/complete laws)

  11. Chris says:

    @Victor – Try it now. 🙂

  12. Metal Matt says:

Congrats on #500 Chris! I can’t wait to see the next 500.

    I f*cking love this comic.

  13. sukkamonsteri says:

You know… This reminds me of One Piece, somehow…
    Congratulations on 500 comics!

  14. Awesome says:

Hey Chris, love the comic… just to let you know, 1440×960 isn’t a real resolution… the correct one is 1440×900. Might wanna fix that.

  15. Chris says:

@Awesome – 1440×960 is the native resolution of the PowerBook G4 that I make the comics with. 🙂

  16. UrbanWildCat says:

This is a realisation I had a few months ago. My arms didn’t stretch like that, but I did sprain my ankle quite badly. Biff’s feet must be nailed to the grass!

  17. blaz42 says:

Have my congrats on the 500th Biff, Chris, no webcomic could damage my productivity more than yours, so keep that up 😀

  18. soulofaqua says:

Chris I congratulate you with a mighty fine 500 comics and I hope to one day see the tenfold of it and congratulate you with 5000 comics well done, but untill then may Biff never die and perhaps one day become as famous as Superman with his cheezy name and vulnarability.. or however you spell it. Biff would be a much better Superhero with his lethal gadgets and infinte lifes.

  19. SEA says:

Congratualations on your *drum roll* 500 comics!

*Raises champagne in 500 mile per hr wind.*

Hey. Where did the boittle go?

  20. bghvgjdh says:

    Congrats on 500!
I almost never post comments, but I have been watching Biff for a while now- about 2 months.

  21. MaskedMan says:

    500.
    500mph.

    Yeah, that’s about right. 🙂

Growing up in Colorado, we’d get some *killer* winds in the spring – Gusts of over 100mph, at times. MY arms never stretched, though – I only got knocked on my butt.

  22. random person says:

  29. DJ says:

Chris, you are one of my heroes. You’re excellent artistic and comedic skills bring laughter to my office every weekday. May you go down in comics history with such greats as Bill Watterson(Calvin and Hobbes), Scott Adams(Dilbert), Tim Buckley(Ctrl+Alt+Del), and Stan Lee(If you don’t know him, stop reading comics right now!-Spiderman), for you are surely their equal, if not their superior!

Lol, in plain English, you’re my hero! Here’s to many more Biff comics!

  30. Seraphine says:

oh gaa, what’s with the big annoying blinking
box under my favorite comic, telling me I am
the three millionth plus person to be annoyed
by it? nooooo. my arms aren’t big enough…

  31. Chris says:

@Seraphine – Yeah, I try to filter out the REALLY annoying ones. You shouldn’t be seeing ones like that but sometime they slip through. :/

  32. Mike says:

Chris, many congratulations on the 500. Here’s hoping for another 500!

    Long live Biff

  33. Jayne Squared says:

  34. Reicita says:

    Congratulations.

  35. no name says:

WHOO HOO 500!!! I’ve been looking at the cartoons every day for a while now but i never commented. I had to ask my dad (I’m 12) and i never got around to it. But this is an awesome site, Chris!

  36. Chris says:

    @no name – Thanks for reading! 🙂

  37. Gobbledegook says:

Yikes… are his feet bolted to the ground?

  38. Sir Lancelot says:

    HAPPY 500 BIFF!!!

Chris…I’ve read this comic since it started and it has never ever disappointed. Biff has made me laugh day after day after day…Here’s to 500 more, and 500 after that, and etc etc etc…

Poor Biff. Forgot about that 500 MPH kite-flying rule…remember, people, it’s UP TO 500 MPH, not UP TO AND INCLUDING. Just remember that.

  39. Noodles says:

    Grats on 500.

Long live Biff; let’s get to 1000 and more 🙂

    Cheers Chris.

    Noodles x

  40. Jackson says:

Sweet sweet Book-of-Biff wallpapers, with more surprises to come on Tuesday? Thanks, Chris! That’s cool of you.

Also, congrats on the big 500. You’ve proven the robustness of the Biff concept in ways that none of us could. Here’s to many more surreal and awesome Biff comics!

  41. Reynard says:

The Long Arm of the Law has nothing on the long arms of the Biffster!

    Congratulations on #500, Chris!

  42. ¡el pingüino bilingüe¿ says:

And now to celebrate five hundred I will type biff five hundred times
    *Drum Roll*

    *Still Drum Roll*

    (sigh) *Drum Roll*

    biff five hundred times

  43. jeremy says:

Congrats! 500 is quite an achievement. Take it from someone seriously struggling to cross that line.

  44. Shanchan says:

Congrats! The man who can make 500 single-panel comics and have them be hilarious is surely a creative genius! Good luck with the next 500! There’s no stopping Biff now.

  45. Mithras says:

Wow Chris, very very nice job on every single one of the comics. The art is top-notch and the writing never fails to make me and all the people I show your comic to laugh! This is a fantastic comic, and I wish you good luck with the next five-hundred!

  46. Chris says:

Hey everyone, thanks for the thanks!

  47. Josh says:

    STRETCH ARMSTRONG!!!!!!!!
Oh man, I loved that thing growing up…until it burst and spewed that nasty smelly…tasty…liquid.
Yeah, I tasted it, you had to.

  48. Skyler says:

Wow. I consider myself a fairly new reader, and yet I’ve been lurking since 200-ish. Congrats on churning out 500 so… fast!

  49. steve-o says:

Wow. I’m at a loss. Grats Chris. Keep ’em coming! But seriously, what’s up with his feet?

  50. steve-o says:

Woah! I type one comment and two come before me?

  51. Speakerblast says:

Nice job on the 500! I’ve been reading this comic for about a year and a half now and thought this was a good opportunity to churn out my first post…

Keep up the brilliant work that grants me 5 free smiles a week (or more!)

  52. Dracos125 says:

Hey Share the super stretching powers.

  53. Chris says:

@Speakerblast – Ha! Maybe that should be the new tagline for the comic. “5 free smiles a week.”

  54. Viola Fan says:

    Congrats on your 500th comic!

I’ve been reading for a while, but never ended up actually commenting (not that I remember anyway). I love Biff, and I’ve had lots of fun reading through your comics! Thanks!

Of course, this comic is genius as always 🙂 Reminds me of when I practically floated for a few seconds when I was young… it wasn’t with a kite, though. It was with my coat :O

  55. Reg says:

Woot! Numero 500! And now the comic is half way to a thousand… that would certainly be an amazing achievement, but I think you can be proud, Chris, for Biff’s survival this long! (both the comic and his body)
And though it may be pointless in asking, how can Biff even stay on the ground in 500 mph winds?

  56. Chezetoats says:

Wow! I can’t believe its 500 already! I started reading this coming at around number 200, man, 500 if just amazing! Stick with it Chris, you provide us with great smiles upon our faces! Man, where would the world be without you?

Keep up the good work! kudos to you Chris, kudos to you!

  57. Angel says:

aw, man thats awesome. You should do more wallpapers.

  58. biggo says:

I can’t believe I’ve read 500 Biffs in 2 days. And commented a few, too. I should be sick more often 😀

  59. Destined says:

    Gomu gomu no….kite?

  60. Twigs says:

Biff shouldn’t come to the Maritimes then.
