#336 – Silverfish

I think the weirdest bugs in our house are always the ones that hang out in storage areas. They don’t seem to like light or movement. They do like to crawl up your arm while you are holding a heavy object that you can’t put down quickly.

Well it looks like the preorder will end this week! I’m going to officially close the preorder on Sunday night the 23rd at midnight. (that’s midnight Chicago time.) Hopefully that will be enough time so that anyone who isn’t a daily reader won’t feel like they missed out. Thank you to everyone that has ordered a book so far. Thanks for making this a success.

Even better is the lovely silver smear of scaly stuff and guts when you squish them.

  2. Elli says:

Whoo! That’ll teach ’em! But now he can’t eat ’em. 🙁

Wow, preorders are finally almost done. Great stuff.

Sigh, Biff still has not learnt from the time he bronzed that painting right?

  5. Radical Edward says:

I remember Biff seems to have a fascination with industrial materials. Again, he is ruining his chance to nosh on them…

long time reader, first time poster

wow…it seems like years since i started reading biff. i’ve been here pretty much from the start lol.

when i read the title of todays comic i thought it wold be about biff finding a giant silverfish or something….lol

silverfish are so cool. i love the way they run across the carpet in the bathroom and things like that. but we have never had any problems with them in my house. to us they are more like pets that we never see lol

Cement is such a versatile solution to so many problems… it’s good in the garden too, I find it stops weeds in their tracks.

  8. Dr. Doom says:

I did the same thing to keep my fish from getting sick.
    In retrospect, bad idea.

  9. nemo says:

sure sure cement may be vercitile but u should see my dad with duck tape and expanding foam. he an solve basically any problem with the stuff. i think we have 7 cans of expanding foam and 9 rolls of duck tape rite now. but tomorrow, well thats a different story. ;D

  10. Gobbledegook says:

    Duck tape is AWESOME!
I’m thinking of being a duct-tape mummy this year for halloween.
Say hello to the mummified handyman!

Better cement than raid… that stuff will absolutely destroy comic books.
    Good thinking, Biff!

  11. Seraphine says:

Capture the silverfish and keep them in a jar.
Feed them the corners of worthless comic books.
The next time Biff gets injured, he can stick
his arm in the jar and let them clean his wounds.

  12. AJ says:

I guess Biff used up all his Bronze on the painting!

You know, there’s actually a relatively famous Belgian artist (Marcel Broodthaers) who was first a relatively succesfull poet. He found that sculptors and painters make more money, and as a protest against this art discrimination, he poured plaster over 50 of his books with poetry. Afterwards he became a vastly more succesfull plastic artist (o whatever you call it in English :-p).

BIFF IS AN ARTIST! Suddenly some of his crazier inventions don’t seem so crazy anymore…Another famous Belgian artist (Panamarenko) made all his art as machines that should work, but, don’t. Flying machines that don’t fly, cars with solar batteries that can’t move, lightbulbs that give only heat, you know. Some of Biff’s stuff is straight up that alley….Makes me see this comic in a whole new light, it does. It isn’t about gags about a guy who has all kinds of mishaps happen to him, it’s actually an autobiographical piece about how misunderstood the artist is, adn all us viewers are gullible victims working to make it greater! OH NO! 😉

    Meh, bugs are fine.
Try holding something very heavy that decides to catch fire suddendly and you can’t put it down anywhere cos everything else is flammable.

  15. Garrett says:

I had never heard of silverfish, but I gather from the comments that it’s a bug. One that likes comic books.
When I saw the title, I thought it might be a code name for something. It just sounds like a code name to me.

  16. Alice Love says:

SILVERFISH. I use to think they were cute, until I opened my bag after summer vacation ended to finish up some last minute homework and my entire bag was filled with silverfish and paper shredding. I think the bugs laid their eggs in my bag too. =(
