#301 – Change

The first time I got a flat tire I was halfway between home and work. Big nail punctured it. The lug nuts were rusted on and I couldn’t get them to budge. I had to walk a few blocks to a public pay phone and call a tow truck. A year or so later someone slashed all 4 tires on that same car and when I was trying to get one of the back wheels off I snapped off 2 of the bolts. Luckily for me all the flats I have gotten have been slow leaks. Never a blowout and never more than 10 miles away from home.

Any readers in the Rockford Illinois area? There’s a short review of Biff that’s being printed in a local paper and I’d love to get a hard copy of it. http://blogs.rrstar.com/onthego/2007/07/webcomics-review-book-of-biff.html

The UK has now taken the lead from Germany for the most international orders with Australia coming in a close 3rd place! The majority of my US orders are going to a cluster of 6 states. New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Georgia, California and Colorado. I’m still waiting for my first orders from Alaska and Hawaii. Any readers out there? 🙂

Sorry Chris. Close but no cigar. I live on the opposite side of Missouri that what u need. I just had my first 2 flats recently. It was actually the valve stem not the tire itself. But since i drove a little on the flat tire it ruined the tire. I got it replaced at Wal Mart not knowing it was the valve. Went flat on my way home.

    This is certainly classic…..

  3. Macabelle says:

Out of curiosity, how many do you have from Texas?

Macabelle was born there before becoming a supervillian.

  4. Chuck says:

When I grow up I want to be a tire therapist.

  5. Synchro593 says:

I’m sorry someone slashed your tires. That’s so annoying and sad. ~_~

  6. Ghostviper says:

ive only been driving for two years, so i’ve been lucky to have never had a flat! 🙂

  7. Hominyjibjib says:

    Waitaminute… That’s a mustache? Say it isn’t so!!

  8. Hanii Puppy says:

    That’s 6 states =p

    Slashing tires? oO;;

The worst that happens to tires here is people steal the valve caps or the hub caps. (why do i keep wanting to type tyres?) =X

    Biff needs Run-on-flat tires =D

  9. Eleanor says:

Hanii, tyre is the English spelling, maybe that’s it?
How many orders have you had from the UK, Chris?

And, lucky me, I have to wait ’til next year to be allowed to drive.

  10. Chris says:

Hominyjibjib – No it’s not a mustache, but that is a common mistake.

Hanii Puppy – You are right! Fixed.

Eleanor – There’s 10 books going to the UK so far. 🙂

  11. Mal says:

I’ve never blow a tire, but I did have my battery die. Car problems are annoying |:

  12. Drake94 says:

I don’t even have my own car… course, I don’t really need one. I couldn’t afford the gas prices here anyway.

  13. Buzzardo says:

Biff is lucky, the tire is only flat on the bottom.

  14. It feels so good to come home from a journey and see that there are a lot more Biff comics for me to read! Yay.

  16. ninjarat says:

Oh man, this one is too close to home.

  17. Squirrely says:

    New Jersey FTW!!!!!
    oh and I had a blowout. not fun. fricken tire exploded when I came too close to a curb >.> Thank god for AAA for bailing my ass since I blanked out on how to change a tire ^^;;

That 70’s Show had this same joke in an episode I watched the other night. Coisidence? Anyway, I’ve never had a flat, but I have had my rear bumper hit 3 seperate times in 1 year. All in the exact same place, too.

For the record, I’m a new reader, and I love it.

  19. Chris says:

Benj – actually yeah, it is a coincidence… I don’t watch that show.

  20. Rocky says:

thats why i invested in some “never-seize” it comes in either aluminum, copper or nickel … i’m sure it comes in more than just that … but it really is worth it .. just put it on there before the nut and it’ll come loose every time 😛 i’m amazed that they don’t just spin off themselves

  21. Akkarin says:

I had a front blow out on me at 70m.p.h. (U.K resident) on a dual carriageway. Had to get the local roadside recovery out, and drive on the flat for a mile in rush hour traffic all trying to do 70+. Not a pleasant experience. Got to a petrol station, and I only had sidewalls left!

  22. the Scarf says:

I don’t drive yet…but recently, I got TWO flat tires on my bike within a week. It was so frustrating…I had to mooch a ride off my friends mom….grr…Glass both times too!

strangly, I ran over glass yesterday (I saw it right before I hit it and couldn’t avoid it) but have no damage to my tires…

I like this comic, his expression is good…he looks like hes being a therepist!

  23. Elkian says:

I warn you now, this is probably one of the dullest customers suck comics.

  24. emthegreat says:

    hey! St. Louisian right here!
    woo!

  25. Vic says:

I’m from Alaska! You have readers, but poor readers. I’m assuming we’re plural, if a year late. As to the firework question you posed earlier – Forth of July sucks when its still daylight at 1am.

  26. Dzelda says:

Hes gonna be waiting a looooong time then XD
