#272 – Storm

On my way home from work yesterday I drove through 5 minutes of the heaviest rain I’ve ever experienced. I was on the expressway and the cars went from 65 to 15 MPH in the span of a few seconds. I think part of the problem was that the rain was coming from the side at a sharp angle. The wipers just couldn’t get the rain out of the way. It extra a dicey for me because I don’t normally drive on that stretch of road. But then the rain stopped as suddenly as it started and all the cars around me made it through ok.

those darn melon storms. Of course the weather people can never predict them correctly, like I think there’s a 23% chance of one right now. By the way, first post, maybe? eh I’ll find out when I refresh. Also, I’m glad you’re not dead from a rain induced car accident Chris.

At least the watermelon on his head could serve as a helmet. Here in Denver you can count the number of rainfalls of the year on one hand, and even then they’re cold, thin drizzles that quickly stop or turn to snow. That’s one large reason I love the South.

  12. Seraphine says:

A significant percentage of body mass is water. The same is true of watermelons. I can’t remember if Biff has ears, but this is the perfect environment for seed germination.

I think I may have mentioned before, but when I was in Denver this summer, we had a HUGE storm. We were in our groups van on the freeway, and there was dead cars EVERYWHERE! And as you might know, Denver is at the same elevation as most clouds. That was cool lightning.

omg, thats like when i was 10 or something like that, and I was on my way home from school. It was a half hour walk, and it started raining. At first it was OK, but By the time I got to my street, the rain was FLOODING the streets, and it had almost gone over the step and under the door to my house!
Luckily it stopped soon after it started.
