#231 – Clip

I’ve collected lots of things in my life. I started out with the usual stamps, coins and comics when I was a kid. I think the problem though is that I always enjoyed the chase more than the acquisition. My stamp collection got thrown out when I was still a kid. I spent my coin collection on food when I was in college and I’m thinning out my comic collection by about 60 pounds a week. I think the things that I’m most interested in acquiring now are more space and less debt. 🙂

  4. fruglemonkey says:

  6. dragonbrad says:

  7. Manny says:

Don’t grow up too quickly! Next thing you know you’ll be acquiring kids!

  8. Steveith says:

How does Biff take all the pain he endures?

  9. Colin says:

i used to straighten my paper clips, and then use them as V-Bombs to conquer all enemies

  10. Maxmillean says:

…..wow……..how does one not notice when they fall asleep on their paper clip sculpture collection

  11. sukka says:

At least he didn’t sleep with his mouth open… I once used paper clips to make a small hammer (ball & chain, about half a meter), I use it as a decoration mostly though…

  12. Wannabeelf says:

i collect foreign coins. it’s not worth the fee the bank charges to change ’em back in most cases. though i do have some old coins that my grandpa found in the seat cushions when he was working for Panam. and a Panam coinpurse that is used as a Barbie suitcase.

  13. Reikon Ame says:

Wow, that actually seems like a good thing to do, all those times while your sitting around in class and the teacher has that nice big box of paperclips. The only thing I’m wondering is how he got them to stand up.

  14. Nova Namina Riff says:

Lucky none of them got in his eyes. Otherwise he would wake up with extra strong but painful to apply fake eyelashes.

  15. kenshin620 says:

Biff has some amazing talents. I’m refering the paper clip sculpting. Everytime I try, they just snap.

  16. Jean-Denis says:

When I was kid I collected computer chips. I salvaged computers that were heading for the trash and removed as much removable chips I could and then pin them on styrofoam boards, grouped by categories and serial numbers.

Nowadays I’m still looking for obsolete comps but now it’s to make them useful again, as cheap routers for example 😛

  17. Ela says:

That looks painful. I like it!

  18. Endless says:

I do that all the time!

  19. Awkward As Usual says:

I collect paperclips..even wrote a paper about paperclips…I love making sculptures and chains organized by color and size….I also collect paperbags, red-striped string, straws, and sugar packets among many other things…

By the way, how was Biff organizing them?…

  20. Qui-Gon Jinn says:

Every time i try to bend paperclips, they always get stuck in some weird position, so if i drop them they snap back and jump at me.

  21. Chris says:

Awkward As Usual – Was your paper more than one page? …did you staple it? 🙂

  22. kenshin620 says:

…I think he was ABOUT to organize them, and that’s when he fell asleep XD

  23. DMC_Run says:

    [fruglemonkey]:
I think you’ve hit the nail right on the head – perhaps Biff uses paper-clips to pre-plan his styling-plans for his eyebrows! ‘Fess-up here, Chris – that’s how Biff keeps those unruly brows under such tight control, right?

  24. dragonbrad says:

i think that when biff sleeps his eyebrows and mouth cacoon a round his head,so he could have a use for his eyebrows

  25. Nate says:

    ooooh wellllll.

  26. pieman says:

i used to collect bottle caps

  27. Radical Edward says:

I collect interesting toys and small Asian art (like kokeshi dolls and old sake bottles from Japan).

I sometime take the toys and gently play with them since I remember a quote from John Lasseter of Pixar saying “The most tragic thing for a toy is never being played with…”

Of course, if I ever do see my Garfield plushie spring to life, I tell you.

  28. Changeling says:

I collect feathers, shells, pine cones, animals bones, live animals, rocks, fossils, artifacts, sea glass… etc…

and I make paper clip sculptures. I gave some to my father for father’s day once… he was… bemused, I think… ^^

  29. Rachel says:

He has way too much time on his hands.

  30. Darkpheonix XIII says:

    I collect… everything… yeah…

  31. Ch'mera says:

I’ve always had a weird fixation with small trinket boxes. The sort that’s decorated with beads and glitter and you get from craft shops. They’re incredibly tacky looking but I love them anyway.

  32. the walrus says:

Funny, Biff’s eyebrows look remarkably similar to the paper clips. Perhaps one day Biff was arranging his collection of extra large paper clip sculptures, when he started feeling sleepy…

  33. Matanui3 says:

I’ve made a couple of these that look like birds!

  34. YukiSnowflake says:

So THATS where my collection went!
I guess, after stealing the Rembrant and other paintings, and selling half of em, he came to my house and stole my paperclip collection.
I always wondered why things always disappeared from my house and the alarm went off every morning at 3:00AM.

  35. rysworld says:

    Oh jeez…

I used to like bending paperclips like that. Then I stepped on one, and it went like a quarter inch into my foot. No bleeding though!
