why do i worry the next comic will show a sneaker in the air and the caption will read something about biff realizing the ipod wasn’t worth the jump. :O
Dear Santa,
Please don’t let Chris murder Biff.
Amen.
Okay, first, I Just got one of those sweet new Ipods with a screen for christmas, so A: thanks for the warning Chris/Biff, and B: Screw you LordRetard, you’re a jerk :P.
Also, one of my little personal quirks is that I’m always scared I’m going to drop something over a huge precipice (when I’m near one).. so I have to grip my camera extra hard in those situations etc.. so this one really hit home..
TKort, I’m the same way. it’s a totally irrational fear, of course – if you care about something enough to not drop it anywhere, you certainly aren’t going to drop it over a ledge, but there’s a part of me that thinks that an invisible cliff-monster is going to reach up and snatch it out of my hands.
HA! makes you wonder how many little kids (because you know there are parents out there giving thier 4-7 year olds ipods, somewhere in the world) have done just what biff has done!
oddly enough, this has happened to me on numerous occasions… but not from my shirt pocket. im tellin you my CD player is as everlasting as cher. ive slammed that thing so hard the batteries and cd poped out.. still played fine ๐
I’ve had homing cheese and the glass of ice happen to me. I pray to Dan (don’t ask) that the rest won’t happen. Good thing I don’t own an Ipod (my CD player works fine once I scrape the dust off).
Oh man, I almost cried when I saw that. An iPod, epitome of perfection, lost over the side of a cliff. I’m always terrified that will happen to me! I probably would jump after it too.
I’m mostly worried about this problem with toilets, since I’m around those far more often than the occasional precipice, and I keep far too many things located in my pants pockets… I hope Biff wouldn’t go after something in a toilet, though… That in itself could create another spatial anomaly or something of the sort.
My fear is dropping my Nintendo DS over a cliff. My MP3 player is very hard to break. I drop kicked it into the wall and it played fine. It’s a creative.
iPods really do suck. My Cd player plays CD-RWs, so it costs less, holds more music, I don’t have to pay for songs, and the Cd player is far more durable.
I have the worst luck with ipods, the first one I had the screen broke (still donโt know how), on the second one the click wheel broke. I disagree with Ben. But if he had a gameboy pocket, Gamecube, N64, then where talking invincible. Also, I have glasses to, but my head grabs on to them now, they just slowly slide off when I’m upside down.
I have a creative mp3 player too and I have it with me all the time. I’m not worried about dropping it though. I am tempted to try the drop kick thing, but there’s the voice in the back of my head that is screaming at me not to believe you when you say it won’t break. I think I’ll trust the voice in my head, thank you very much.
I keep my iPod on me at all times in one of those little clippy cases. I’ve only dropped it once, I think, and it landed on my backpack. I probably couldn’t live without my little wonder machine ^_^ 66point6, I herby refute your statements:
1) Ok, yeah, they are expensive to buy, but they last a long time if you’re good to ’em. And if you paid that much to start with, why wouldn’t you be good?
2) I’ve had my 60g for two years now, I have ten movies, forty photos, and over six thousand songs of varying lengths. I have yet to fill half of the memory. Who would ever need 12,000 songs, ever? and if you did, it would be a PAIN IN THE ASS to keep rewriting CDs with that much. Plus you couldn’t choose the order, play games, make playlists on the fly, or even have music vids or pics.
3) Who says you have to pay for music?
I have the same issue as Pumpkin Masher and Nate – after having my glasses readjusted once I made the mistake of leaning over the upstairs banister, looking down the stairwell and seeing the frustratingly blurred image of my glasses hitting the floor downstairs.
It annoys me because I like to stand on the edge of tall things and look out, but am terrified that I will drop something over and have to watch it tumble down. For some reason there is no fear of myself falling down >.> Perhaps I should take up standing naked on cliff edges. That way I can drop nothing but my dignity.
I’m afraid of dropping stuff except for my Y.U.P. Btw, a Y.U.P. is an Mp3 player made by Samsung and I only had one problem with it that was solved by a piece of paper. Before the paper, it wouldn’t work til Dad fixed it now it’s practically immortal. I’ve dropped it like 50 times and it still works!!!
Bah. My iPod has survived running into walls, being landed on at 15-25 MPH [bike wrecks. multiple, yes.], stepped on…it’s scarred all to hell but it’s still going. Biff has nothing to worry about, provided he finds it before a bear eats it.
My iPod shuffle is so cracked and horridly disfigured.. but surprisingly; it works still. Which doesn’t matter, considering I got a new once for Christmas.
my ipod is immortal. it has survived multiple trips through the washing machine, been dropped from a 2nd story balcony onto concrete and stomped on by a 110 pound girl and it still works fine. i think it’s posesed ๐ฎ
I once dropped a 6-foot high Vox amp onto my 1979 Walkman once, and it didn’t even dent the case. And people think I’m mad when I choose it over an iPod.
When i was on vacation in greece with my family we went down to a nice resturant/bar type thing and we where told there was alot of fish at the seafront i wanted to have a look and i bend over to look down and my sunglasses went down the into the water lol i immediatly thought of that when i read this, also because when it happened i thought does this actually happen to people ๐
I actually did this with a cell phone. Only I was leaning over the balcony in my room on a cruise ship. The ship I had only been on for 30 seconds. And now my phone is somewhere in the port of Seattle.
Pfaah. iPods are for jerks, anyway.
why do i worry the next comic will show a sneaker in the air and the caption will read something about biff realizing the ipod wasn’t worth the jump. :O
Dear Santa,
Please don’t let Chris murder Biff.
Amen.
*cries*
you really think a little fall will hurt our man biff?
I think J has a point Calan. ๐
hey, you said some of this comes from personal experience – you didnt just happen to do that did you? :p ^^
No, the last time I was at the Grand Canyon was in the 80’s… I don’t think I even had a walkman at the time.
O_o your loopy if you think Biff won’t jump for it. The fall wont hurt him, he’s papercut himself in HALF before, even MASOCHISTS hate those things….

Pfa, can’t even afford one of those…

I’ve read all the comics up to here, and this one is by far my favorite, cause I can definately relate to the fear of it.
Hey Shady, just don’t wear pocket shirts and you should be all set. ๐
HA! makes you wonder how many little kids (because you know there are parents out there giving thier 4-7 year olds ipods, somewhere in the world) have done just what biff has done!
Coincidently, my iPod fell to the floor when I was about to open this specific comic. No kidding.
Yikes! I hope that this is the only comic that you have happen in real life! ๐
Biff does look like hes getting ready to jump after it.
oddly enough, this has happened to me on numerous occasions… but not from my shirt pocket. im tellin you my CD player is as everlasting as cher. ive slammed that thing so hard the batteries and cd poped out.. still played fine ๐

My brother found out that this is actually true when leaning over a small bridge, I just had to show him this after he came back.
I’m mostly worried about this problem with toilets, since I’m around those far more often than the occasional precipice, and I keep far too many things located in my pants pockets… I hope Biff wouldn’t go after something in a toilet, though… That in itself could create another spatial anomaly or something of the sort.
My dropping fear when looking over some sort of ledge has to do with my glasses, rather than my ipod….
My fear is dropping my Nintendo DS over a cliff. My MP3 player is very hard to break. I drop kicked it into the wall and it played fine. It’s a creative.
Pumpkin-masher, me too, my glasses always fall off at random times, so I’d probably take them off or just let ’em fall.
iPods really do suck. My Cd player plays CD-RWs, so it costs less, holds more music, I don’t have to pay for songs, and the Cd player is far more durable.
I’ve dropped my ipod a billion times, i think biff’s ipod survived that fall!

zantarath, why would you drop kick your mp3 player?
I would.

3) Who says you have to pay for music?
The law of course. But who listens to that?
I wonder what music Biff listens to.
My friend just got a new ipod after her last one fell out of her pocket into the loo.
I bet there’s a really surprised bird down there.
I keep mine in my shorts pocket. Along with my cell and my house key…And my trans-dimensional viewing gourd.
I have the same issue as Pumpkin Masher and Nate – after having my glasses readjusted once I made the mistake of leaning over the upstairs banister, looking down the stairwell and seeing the frustratingly blurred image of my glasses hitting the floor downstairs.

Next thing you know he’ll be dropping his laptop from the Empire State building.
Well that kinda sucks.
I wonder what would happen if some wild animal stumbled upon the iPod.
Poor Biff. That sucks. Bad.
Bah. My iPod has survived running into walls, being landed on at 15-25 MPH [bike wrecks. multiple, yes.], stepped on…it’s scarred all to hell but it’s still going. Biff has nothing to worry about, provided he finds it before a bear eats it.
I don’t have an Ipod
Or any game systems
NO game stuff AT ALL
My iPod shuffle is so cracked and horridly disfigured.. but surprisingly; it works still. Which doesn’t matter, considering I got a new once for Christmas.
The same thing happened to me.
Except it was a pool, and not a national park/landmark
ummmmm, irony, i hate it, this has actually happend to me before, and it kinda sucks. However i laughed, really hard about 2 weeks later.
my ipod is immortal. it has survived multiple trips through the washing machine, been dropped from a 2nd story balcony onto concrete and stomped on by a 110 pound girl and it still works fine. i think it’s posesed ๐ฎ
Been there
Done that

that’s happened to me before
I do that all the time (minus the cliff)…but the earphones catch it so it never hits the floor. ๐
I do go through earphones pretty fast, though….
My iPod went through a washing machine, and is just fine…
Still, poor Biff…
I’m glad the rest of y’all’s ipods survived the washer, ’cause mine didn’t.
I actually did this with a cell phone. Only I was leaning over the balcony in my room on a cruise ship. The ship I had only been on for 30 seconds. And now my phone is somewhere in the port of Seattle.
That’s happened to me before…but not exactly from that high, mao. xD
