My superpower is the ability to miss five buses in a row. I know it’s not much and I can’t think of a time when it will ever come in handy other than pure coincidence, but I can feel for Biff here. Waiting for forty minutes on a busstop in Wisconsin isn’t that fun. Even less fun when it happens twice in one day!
God…that’s happend to me. Calling your mom for a ride afterwards is the most embaressing part. Espeshally when there are people watchign you from the Subway the whle time you were there. They knew there was no bus runnign, why coudlnt’ they have told me earlier! >_
I live in the capital of my country, which sadly has the worst bus service I have ever encountered. Sydney and Melbourne have reliable (if crammed) buses, why can’t we? But nooo, Canberra doesn’t deserve public transport. Grumble grumble. Still, when the school bus doesn’t turn up, I react less in a fall-to-the-ground-in-frustration way and more in a mwahahaha-excuse-not-to-go-to-school way. See, always find the positives ๐
And here I was thinking Biff acted unusually animatedly when he got lemon juice in his eyes. Throwing himself on the ground in naked despair? That’s pretty bold. I’ve only done that once or twice in my whole life, without any physical pain involved.
I guess the question on everyone’s mind is, where was he taking the bus to?
Usually I was impeccable at turning on the radio when there was lots of snow…one time I didnt, and was about 15 minutes after the time when the bus should have showed up that someone was nice to tell me that there wasnt school that day. Was too elated to feel stupid then.
This is Biff we’re taking about. Odds are they have all been refrigerator’d, crushed, crashed, rear-ended, and run over by a yacht.
Probably also attacked by some kind of waterfowl and/or deer, but that is pure speculation.
HAAAAAAAAAATE transit, but unfortunately, when you live in a city (Calgary) that has traffic that terrifies me to the point of never wanting to learn to drive, or have the patience to learn, you end up having to make do with what you have.
I grew up in the sticks and on occasion my school bus would get stuck in the snow in the winter or not start because of the cold. I once waited for an hour before it showed up, in winter, in Maine. Was very very cold.
Hands down, my favorite strip in the series. I live in DC and cannot adequately express how true to life this is. And that’s about the pose I assume in such situations, myself.
Never once in my life did I ever need to take the bus to school, we lived close enough that my parents could drive me (yes, even to high school) without them being late to work. Your problems are alien to me, its like a bear complaining to a shark that its knees hurt.
When I went to my first school, I only missed the bus because I was reading, and at my second school I was close enough to walk, but I have to ride the bus to school again this year.
I have a funny miss-the-bus story.
One day, sophomore year, me and my buddy were waiting for the bus. So we wait. And wait. And wait. It’s Colorado, so snow days are common… But there’s no snow. We eventually give up and head to our homes… And I check the school site. Turns out there was a 2 hour delay… And no morning bus rides. So him mom takes us in, and it turns out some seniors from another HS let all the air out of the tires at the bus parking lot, then tried to blame OUR seniors! Oh well, fun times and all.
I saw the Biff-lying-on-the-pavement bit more as boredom and exhaustion than passionate despair. Biff probably doesn’t care about how gross it is to lie down at the bus stop.
dude, you’v been spying on me…
Yes I have, and you should really cut back on your cheese intake.
buut i liiiike cheeese…
I was in Italy for a while. Every so often they would have strikes. I would find out after haveing similar experiences as Biff.
I’m so slow, this has happened to me like, five times. With the same bus. At the same bus stop. Let’s just say I know the spot well.
_> .. *scratches her neck* Why do I tell people these things anyway? …

I’m glad I’ve never had this experience. MY legs would have fallen off, because Biff is much more patient than I.

I had this happen before. One day youโre out there, and then realize, NO SCHOOL. “HOW THE H”L DID I FORGET?!”
that has happened to me sooooooo many times
I’m glad I’ve never missed the bus EVER.
This is why I take the train.
Was this before or after he harassed the rodents and bent the water?

I’ve done similar stupid moves…waiting for a bus on the wrong day is common.
He was obviously talking the bus to his favorite park, which has sinks, so he could simultaneously torment rodents and bend water

I waited for an hour and a half for a bus while it was freezing cold out D:
What happened to all of his cars? They can’t all have been refrigerator’d…

I had a similar experence. I missed the bus because I WAS counting the bricks. I didn’t notice for a while XD

Oh… That’s sort of sad! He looks so broken up about it…

I just walk everywhere. ‘Sgood exercise, I can hear the birds, frogs, etc., and I get places on time. ๐
